Joshua vs Ngannou Tips
Ngannou heads to Saudi Arabia for just his second professional contest and the Predator may be ready to shock the boxing world.
The Predator dropped WBC champion Tyson Fury in Riyadh in October and the 37-year-old was pretty unfortunate not to get the verdict in that contest.
It’s not hard to have doubts over one-fight form and suggest that Fury wasn’t at his best in that contest, but it’s hard to think that the Cameroonian will have not improved since his contest with the Gypsy King.
It’s a mega-money fight in Saudi Arabia and Joshua will have been attracted by the earning potential, but it looks a dangerous contest for the British boxer.
AJ has superior skills, but he was dropped four times when losing to Andy Ruiz, Wladimir Klitschko hurt Joshua and sent him to the canvas and Oleksandr Usyk also had the Brit in big trouble.
Ngannou will walk forward, swing big punches, close the gap and look to get on the inside and at the prices the Predator looks an excellent bet to win the bout by stoppage.
Ngannou took just three rounds to send Fury to the canvas when the pair clashed in Saudi Arabia back in October and the Predator is likely to have taken plenty of confidence from that contest.
The Predator didn’t deviate from his walk-forward style in the contest with the Gypsy King and it appears likely that the 37-year-old will double-down on that approach against AJ.
Of course, Joshua is technically a better boxer and it’s possible that he will look to stay out of Ngannou’s way in this ten-round contest.
However, Fury is a far superior technician to the Watford man and the WBC champion wasn’t able to keep the Predator at bay.
Perhaps Joshua will hope that his power can stop the Cameroonian from getting close to his chin, but if AJ does decide to stand and trade, this fight is only going one way.
The 34-year-old’s trainer Ben Davison has certainly indicated that there could be an aggressive approach from Joshua on Friday night, in the hope of nullifying the strength and power of Ngannou, and that it is likely to lead to an early night in Riyadh.
Taking the bout to end before the start of the eighth round looks a pretty solid bet in what could be a chaotic contest on Friday night.
