Manchester United vs. Omonia Nicosia Betting Tips: Throw-ins angle makes appeal at Old Trafford
Manchester United welcome Cypriot side Omonia Nicosia to Old Trafford on Thursday evening in Matchday 4 in the Europa League. We’ve previewed the action and have provided you with two selections that we like the look of for the occasions.
It wasn’t plain sailing for Erik Ten Hag’s side when they travelled to Omonia seven days ago. The Red Devils went 1-0 down before making a coming back and going on to win the game 3-2.
United then went on to claim a 2-1 victory away at Goodison Park against Everton, again coming behind after conceding a first half goal.
Neil Leonnon will have been delighted with his sides showing in the reverse fixture, although his side are still to pick up a point in this Group E campaign. Their opponents on Thursday are currently second in the table with six points from three matches and they can make another step towards the knockout stages with a win here.
Moving onto team news, Brandon Williams, Aaron Wan-Bissaka and Axel Tuanzebe are all confirmed absentees for the hosts, while Harry Maguire, Donny van de Beek and Raphael are both a doubt. Cristiano Ronaldo is expected to start from the off after letting off eight shots in the game against Omonia last week.
Manchester United vs Omonia Nicosia Odds
For our first selection we’re using the bet365 Bet Builder feature and have doubled up Manchester United to win the game along with Under 38.5 throw-ins for both teams combined. This pays just below even money at 9/10, and with Ronaldo, Rashford and Antony all expected to start for Ten Hag’s side, we feel this will be a much more comfortable victory.
Taking a look back at United’s throw-in data over recent weeks and in the 3-2 win last week there were 33 in total against Thursday’s opponents. This selection of Under 38.5 combined throws has landed in all of United’s last three matches and over the last six they average 36.8 per game. As mentioned above, we think United should win this one comfortably and an early goal could well take the pace out of the game and hopefully lead to a low throw-count.
For those looking for something at a bit longer of a price, we’re also touting a similar double consisting of Under 34.5 throw-ins and Over 11.5 Omonia Nicosia goal-kicks. Again via the bet365 Bet Builder feature, this double pays 6/1, however this time we have lowered the total throw-ins line to 34.5. In Manchester United’s last three matches the throw-in totals read 33, 33 and 30 and we think this line looks an attractive proposition on Thursday.
We’ll also be combining this with Over 11.5 goal-kicks in the match. Manchester United let off a whopping 28 shots out in Cyprus last week and we can envision another large haul this time round. This resulted in 15 goal-kicks for Omonia Nicosia in that match and we would not be surprised to see the figure in that region again at Old Trafford.
