Luckster Sport Review
This Luckster Sport review will tell you all you need to know about the sports and betting opportunities here. Here’s what we found.
Luckster is an Irish-themed sports betting site and online casino. It is a relatively new sportsbook that’s run by Aspire Global. There are over 30 sports with hundreds of available markets. Though the odds are somewhat average, there is still a lot I like about this site. Read more about my experience in this Luckster Sport review then click the link to join.
Bonuses and Promotions
There is a decent welcome bonus for new players at Luckster. When you register and make a £10 bet with minimum odds of 2.0 (1/1), you automatically receive a £10 bet token. This token must be used within 14 days of issue and can be used for bets with 4/5 (1.80) odds or higher. The great thing about this is that winnings are not subject to wagering requirements so everything you win you get to keep.
However, at Luckster Sport, your payment method matters for your promotions. Anyone who uses Paysafecard, PayPal, Skrill, and Neteller, cannot receive the welcome bonus. This is disappointing because, as you might be aware, these are the quickest methods of payment at online casinos. And like all reputable sites, Luckster requires you to withdraw your funds via the same method as your deposit. So, if you don’t deposit with one of these (because you want the welcome bonus), you’ll have to wait longer for your withdrawals to arrive.
Luckster has other promotions available for existing customers. My favourite was the Boost Up Combo Wins, which gives you up to 77% extra winnings in cash.
Sports and Markets
Luckster has a great range of sports available for betting. This includes popular sports like football, basketball, and tennis as well as more unusual additions like ski jumping and stock car racing. You can find these listed on the left sidebar.
Besides traditional sports, you’ll also find virtual sports, eSports, and specials to bet on like UK politics and the Oscars. In more niche sports like stock car racing, there weren’t as many markets available. However, these were still good and on par with competitors like Coral and Ladbrokes.
If you like eSports, there’s a lot to bet on at Luckster. Games include Counter-Strike, with its impressive number of markets and leagues, Dota 2, Rainbow Six, Starcraft, King of Glory, League of Legends, and Valorant.
The number of markets for individual sports is generally good too. With football, for instance, I was pleased to see a great level of diversity - including leagues like the Azerbaijan First Division, Lithuania’s 1 Lyga, and the Uganda Premier League.
For handball, which is not too popular in the UK, you can bet on a huge number of markets, including the Women’s Pan American Games.
Besides betting, there is also an online casino on the site. Though the two seem intertwined on the homepage, once you’re on the sportsbook side, they’re very much separate. Unlike some online bookmakers like LeoVegas, the Luckster Sport betting page doesn’t feel like a side hustle to the main casino site and has equal prominence.
Design and Usability
Some sports betting platforms appear rather plain and without a theme, so it was nice to review one that had a definite style. The green colouring certainly emphasised the Irish feel of the site.
In terms of overall design, however, I did find this to be a little old-fashioned but not so much as to put me off using it. Like many bookmakers, a list of sports is available in a sidebar on the left, and there is a large main section. The right sidebar shows the upcoming races at the top and the bet builder option at the bottom.
The Luckster Sport bet slip floats a little like a pop-up but it isn’t as annoying as some sites with a similar format. There is also an easy option to toggle 1-click betting on, which I liked. You can even minimise the bet slip to appear as a line at the bottom of your screen.
There were two major things about the design and usability. Firstly, The sports on the left were in a strange order. At the top were what I presume are the most popular sports betting choices. These include football, horse racing, greyhounds, tennis, basketball, ice hockey, and Formula 1 – in that order. After this point, the remaining sports appear in alphabetical order. There are no categories. There isn’t even a dividing line between the two sections to make it clear what you’re looking at.
I don’t generally have a problem with alphabetical sports lists but I would have presumed ‘eSports’ would be listed as one. Instead, as you scroll down the list, you find darts, Dota 2, and then futsal. Also, once you click on a sport, it expands within the list to show more options. This stays expanded, even when you click to expand other sports meaning you can end up with a long and confusing sports list.
My other – somewhat minor – gripe about the Luckster Sport site is that the text is quite small. This is even the case when the screen is 100% maximised. And although it was possible to minimise the screen slightly to look at another website, the Luckster Sport site didn't work at all in split screen mode. This is something I often use when writing reviews so it was a little annoying to see half of my screen showing the Luckster Sport header instead of a smaller version of the website.
This realisation prompted me to try the site out on my mobile browser. Thankfully, this worked well. I actually preferred using the mobile site to the desktop site though the text is still on the small side though.
Payment Methods and Withdrawal Times
Luckster Sport offers a great range of payment methods and even beats some of its competitors for the amount available. However, you do need to be wary about which you choose if you want to take up bonus offers.
Payment methods include Visa, Mastercard, bank transfer, Trustly, PayPal, AstroPay, Paysafecard, MuchBetter, and Skrill. As mentioned, Luckster Sport requires you to cash out with the same method as your deposit – this is to protect against money laundering and fraud. It does mean you’ll need to think about your withdrawal payment method, and whether or not you want to access the welcome bonus when making your deposit.
Like all bookies, withdrawal times vary. Once a cash-out has been requested, it will be processed. Luckster Sport processing times have wide ranges from instant up to 6 days, depending on your chosen method. E-wallets provide the quickest cash out times while card payments and wire transfers are the slowest.
Compared to competitors, the payout times are similar overall and there are no surprises. However, I find the expected processing time of card payment cash outs of ‘instant up to 6 days’ to be very non-specific.
In-Play Betting Options
In-play betting options appear in a large section of the screen. There is a tab you can scroll to view the different in-play options available. When you select an option, you are presented with basic statistics. For example, in football, you’ll see the number of corners, yellow cards, and red cards issued as well as the time that has passed.
Some events like eSports have live streaming available. What I liked about this was how I was able to watch via live stream without signing in. However, there is no way of knowing which sports have live-streaming options available, unlike some sites that use icons to denote this. I struggled to find anything other than eSports live streaming when I was browsing.
Bet Builder
One thing that Luckster did well in my opinion was its bet builder option. This is available for a great selection of sports, including Aussie Rules, American football, baseball, basketball, cricket, ice hockey, rugby league, rugby union, football, and tennis. These are available as pre-match bets only and you’re not guaranteed to be able to cash out all options.
If the bet builder option is available, you’ll find a tab in the match event. From here, you then add selections to your bet slip. These are then combined into a single bet. You can choose a maximum of 30 markets.
Luckster Sport Betting App
Although there is a Luckster Casino app, there is no dedicated sports betting app, which is disappointing. I even checked the casino app to see if the sports options were on there but they weren’t.
Thankfully, the mobile website is fully optimised for your smartphone screen so an app isn’t needed.
Customer Support
Luckster Sport’s mantra is CARE. This stands for Customers Are Really Everything. With that in mind, I would expect customer support to be available 24/7 like it is on a lot of sites but this isn’t the case. I also found it difficult to find the support.
Luckster’s live chat is available between the hours of 8 a.m. CET (so 7 a.m. GMT) and midnight (11 p.m. GMT).
If you don’t want to use the live chat, there’s a message function as well as an extensive list of FAQs, although I feel these could be laid out better.
Responsible Gambling Features
Luckster Sport takes its responsibility to promote responsible gaming seriously. The policy is available as a link at the foot of each page. When you click through, the first thing that comes up is an interactive quiz to assess your risk for problem gambling. I thought this was a clever way of drawing people in as online quizzes are always popular. At the end of this quiz, you’re then given a short conclusion like ‘no gambling issues - enjoy playing safely.’ It’s a useful feature.
Besides the quiz, Luckster Sport offers a range of useful tools like deposit limits, time-out periods, self-exclusions, session time limits, autoplay limits, and reality checks. You can set these up in your account.
Players can set weekly, daily, or monthly limits on how much they deposit. This applies to the casino section of the websites too. As for time-outs, these can be for 24 hours, 1 week, 1 month, or 6 weeks. If this isn’t enough, self-exclusion is the next step. This can be set via the live chat for 6 months up to 5 years.
Summary
Though there were a few things I didn’t like about Luckster Sport, my overall experience was positive. All in all, the sports and markets are good, which is the main reason I use a betting site. Yes, I’d appreciate a better layout, 24/7 live chat, and a mobile app, but I can get by without those things. I did like how many eSport betting options there are and found that Luckster had more compared to some top-level betting platforms.
