Tennis Betting Picks

In recent years this is the one Grand Slam where none of the 'Big Three' have dominated. Federer has been the man on Grass at Wimbledon. Nadal has been the King of Clay and Djokovic has been the star of Albert Park at the Aussie Open. Here though they've split 12 wins relatively evenly. Federer has five victories, Nadal four, and Djokovic three. This has made the US Open the most competitive from a betting standpoint for several years now.

Over in the Women's half of the draw, the top winners in the Open era reads like a Who's Who of the greatest female players of all time. Chris Evert and Serena Williams both have six titles to their name but surprisingly the latter hasn't won since 2014. Steffi Graf (5) and Martina Navratilova (4) are close behind. Margaret Court and Billie Jean King have both lifted the trophy in both the Open and amateur eras.

What happened in 2020?

The biggest story at the 2020 US Open was when the favorite on the Men's side of the draw defaulted. Novak Djokovic smashed a ball in anger and it inadvertently hit a line judge during the first set of his fourth-round match with Pablo Carreno Busta. That incident led to the chair umpire awarding the match to the Spaniard and defaulting the Serbian favorite. This led to Rafael Nadal winning the tournament.

It was Naomi Osaka who won the women's event beating Victoria Azarenka 1-6, 6-3, 6-3 in the final. She beat two Americans in the SF/QF besting Jennifer Brady and Shelby Rogers.
