What to expect from NFL Regular Season Matchups?
The NFL Regular season is officially underway, and so far, we have been treated to a very exciting and dramatic start. The Kansas City Cheifs, who are looking to be the first team ever to win three Super Bowls in a row, have had a great start to the regular season, showing that they truly mean business in their run to break history. We have been treated to many upset victories this season, most notably the Las Vegas Raiders defeating the Baltimore Ravens, who many consider to be one of the top teams in the NFL.
Looking ahead, expect fierce competition as teams fight for playoff spots and divisional supremacy. Contenders like the Philadelphia Eagles will aim to solidify their positions, while struggling teams such as the Jacksonville Jaguars will be desperate to turn their seasons around. Key matchups and divisional rivalries will play a crucial role in shaping the playoff picture, with every win and loss having significant implications. As the season progresses, keep an eye on emerging talents such as Caleb Williams who is starting to find his feet with the Chicago Bears and surprising underdog performances that could shake up the standings and create unexpected narratives.
With each week, the pressure mounts, and every win or loss becomes crucial as teams jostle for position in the standings. The regular season is poised to deliver more surprises, standout performances, and unforgettable moments that will keep fans engaged until the very end.
Free NFL Picks: BettingOdds NFL Predictions
There are many expert NFL predictions across NFL betting websites, and that's why BettingOdds.com has differentiated itself with the use of computer automation to crunch the numbers. Our projection system can help out gamblers in many different betting facets.
Moneyline NFL Computer Picks
There is always going to be a favorite and an underdog in an NFL game, but how good are humans at extracting value? NFL moneyline odds are intriguing bets, especially when a super computer can do thousands of simulations and share its thoughts on the best pick. Hitting on an underdog bet is great, and BettingOdds will be there to give its projection on all the games on the NFL schedule.
NFL Picks Against The Spread
There can be an art to picking against the spread, as game situations and coaching aggressiveness play critical roles, along with the talent on the field. It is a lot to digest, and our NFL betting algorithm can dissect the data before unveiling its expectations for every matchup. Advanced stats often tell a different story than win-loss records, and the computer at BettingOdds.com does a great job at working that out.
NFL Point Total Computer Picks
Leaguewide trends, weather, officiating, and pace of play are just a few of the factors that contribute to point totals, and those must all be taken into account along with the talent of both NFL teams. After thousands of simulations, our computer will lock in and give its NFL prediction for those interested in betting on the NFL point total.
NFL Player Props Computer Picks
The supercomputer doesn't just stop with team predictions. By ingesting all the data, BettingOdds will also project passing yards, rushing yards, receiving yards, and more. With the ever-expanding role of NFL player props on the sports betting scene, it's a great tool to use.
NFL Parlay Computer Picks
Same Game Parlays are very popular at the NFL level, but they can be tough to hit when multiple legs are involved. Our computer algorithm will be projecting outlier production at times during the NFL regular season, and combining some of those together could be a good way to attack the NFL Parlay Picks.

Top Expert Tips on Using Our NFL Predictions
- Track the injuries: There is a great deal of subterfuge during the week, but the official injury report comes out two days before each NFL game. It's a must to study it closely and listen to a head coach's comments because injuries can have an outsized effect on a number of different wagers during an NFL game. Make sure any early-week NFL predictions aren't affected by a key injury.
- Examine the advanced numbers: Win-loss records, player production, and other numbers can sometimes be straightforward, but there are also underlying metrics that can paint a different picture. It's important to familiarize yourself with these data sets to understand if a team or player could be due for regression to the mean. Here at BettingOdds, we will often pass along such info in our NFL expert insights.
- Find the outlier: A sportsbook like FanDuel allows for alternate lines on player props. If our projection system believes someone is going to vastly over- or under-perform their betting line, it can be valuable to play the alternate odds for a better payout.
- Secure the Best Value: Sports betting isn't just about getting the results correct, but also finding the best values. With so many different sportsbook options, shopping your NFL prediction will result in getting the best bang for your buck possible.
- Trust the process: Sometimes our algorithm will go against conventional thinking, but that's because it is not swayed by consensus or groupthink. If you believe in the number-crunching by our supercomputer, don't let public opinion sway that thought.
National Football League Season Predictions
The Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers are favored to make return appearances in the Super Bowl, but as well all know, the NFL can be quite hard to project.
It's not easy to bet against the Chiefs, but the AFC is too tough this year. The Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals, and Buffalo Bills should be right in the mix again, while the Houston Texans are screaming toward contention with an impressive young core.
The Dolphins looked to be interesting however an injury to quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has put a massive dampener on their season. The Jets hold intrigue but in the end, I like the Ravens to finally get over the hump after several seasons of near-misses.
On the NFC side, it feels pretty wide open beyond the 49ers, and I like a couple of underdogs to make some serious noise. The Green Bay Packers aren't listed among the top list of contenders currently, which makes them a nice value pick early in the season.
A Super Bowl prediction, you ask? Ravens 23, Packers 20.
NFL Playoffs Predictions
The Texans could very well finish with one of the top seeds in the AFC, but their inexperience could show in the playoffs. The Chiefs are always in the mix and I believe the Final Four will be the familiar faces of Kansas City, Baltimore, Buffalo, and Cincinnati.
The Ravens and Chiefs will meet in the AFC Championship Game, with Baltimore winning at home.
The 49ers and Detroit Lions should be back in contention in 2024, but the new blood is the pick in the NFC. Few would project a Packers-Rams NFC Championship Game right now, but that's what betting expert Kyle Odegard likes heading into the year.

NFL Matchups and Locations
The NFL is broken down into four different four-team divisions for a total of 32 teams.
American Football Conference
Here is my look at the AFC and its projected results.
Prediction: Baltimore Ravens to win the AFC
Buffalo Bills
The Bills have been a contender for the past several years but traded or cut many of their longtime contributors this offseason. Quarterback Josh Allen is still among the best in the NFL and there is talent around him. Buffalo have had a great start to the season and seem to really mean business so far.
Miami Dolphins
The Dolphins have put together some of the most impressive offensive performances in the NFL over the last two years but have fizzled in the playoffs. Their season has been massively dampened already by the injury of quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. Miami have looked lost without him.
New York Jets
The Jets are all-in as quarterback Aaron Rodgers returns from injury, but he's very old and it's uncertain if this experiment is going to work. If everything clicks, New York could indeed compete for a Super Bowl, because there is a lot of talent on both sides of the ball, but much of that comes down to the play of Rodgers as he nears the end of his career. The Jets have put up a decent start to this NFL season but there is definite room for improvement.
New England Patriots
The Patriots are in complete rebuild mode, as they are projected to have the worst record in the NFL. It will be interesting to see how new coach Jerod Mayo compares to the legendary Bill Belichick. New England is looking to make baby steps this year. The Patriots shocked everyone by beating the Cincinnati Benglas in their opening game but have since lost every game this season.
Baltimore Ravens
The Ravens had the best record in the NFL last year at 13-4, but once again fell short in the playoffs. It is fair to question if Baltimore has what it takes to get over the hump, but this roster looks really good once again. The Ravens look like the top contender to Kansas City's throne in the AFC, and this is the year I think they get it done. Baltimore had a tough start to the season losing to the Kansas City Chiefs and shockingly, the Las Vegas Raiders but have started to find their feet with statement wins over the Bengals and the Bills.
Cincinnati Bengals
The Bengals made the Super Bowl a couple of years ago but an injury-plagued 2023 for Joe Burrow torpedoed those chances a season ago. But Burrow is back healthy and still has both Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in the fold, so another Super Bowl berth is not out of the question. The Bengals have had a really poor start to the season only winning one of their first five games. This form will need to improve drastically if they want to get into the playoffs.
Pittsburgh Steelers
Quarterback woes have plagued Pittsburgh for a while, and it is hoped that either Russell Wilson or Justin Fields will be the answer. Both have some upside but it's hard to call this team a true contender until someone can make the offense more effective. They've had a solid start to this NFL season winning three out of their opening five.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns should have a dominant defense once again in 2024, but the big question is quarterback play. Deshaun Watson has never looked like the star he used to be in Houston and injuries and off-field allegations of sexual misconduct have been ever-present. Cleveland are not playing like a team who intend on getting into the playoffs, only winning one game so far.
Houston Texans
The Texans could be one of the most exciting teams in the NFL in 2024. Second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud is already on the short-list of MVP candidates, and the trade for Stefon Diggs gives Houston one of the best offensive skill arsenals in the league. Houston made the AFC Divisional Round a year ago and will expect more this season. Houston look to be serious contenders this year and have had a fantastic start to the season.
Jacksonville Jaguars
The Jaguars took a step back in 2023, and now it's a huge season for quarterback Trevor Lawrence and the whole group. There is some talent there but Jacksonville has been surpassed as the divisional favorite by Houston. If the Jags miss the playoffs, there will be a lot of hand-wringing in Jacksonville this offseason. The Jaguars have been terrible so far picking up their first win in week 5.
Tennessee Titans
The Titans had an interesting offseason, as they were very aggressive in adding talent. Quarterback Will Levis did show some flashes as a rookie, but it's not set in stone that he is a franchise signal-caller. This Tennessee side look miles away from being a playoff team.
Indianapolis Colts
The rookie season of quarterback Anthony Richardson got cut short, and it's still unknown if he will be able to live up to his draft status. The Colts have some good pieces but will probably not be a playoff contender unless Richardson quickly proves he is the real deal. The Colts look like a team on the up but could be a bit away from being in the playoffs.
Kansas City Chiefs
The Chiefs struggled a bit during the regular season but turned it on in the postseason, beating the San Francisco 49ers in overtime to claim another Super Bowl. Patrick Mahomes, Travis Kelce and Chris Jones are back to lead the way in 2024, as K.C. is once again the title favorite. But Kelce's age is a concern and the Chiefs' offense will need to find better balance this year in a competitive AFC. The Chiefs have had a perfect start to the season winning evry game so far.
Las Vegas Raiders
The Raiders could be one of the worst teams in the NFL. Las Vegas has a roster full of holes and the quarterback picture is bleak. Las Vegas has a new coach in Antonio Pierce who can maybe start laying the groundwork this year, but the wins will be few and far between. The Raiders are miles off being a playoff team although did come away with a memorable victory over the Baltimore Ravens earlier this season.
Los Angeles Chargers
The Chargers have a star quarterback in Justin Herbert, but the rest of the offense is a work in progress. New coach Jim Harbaugh has found great success wherever he has been and may be able to turn this thing around quicker than some expect. The oddsmakers have given Los Angeles the benefit of the doubt as they believe the playoffs are possible.
Denver Broncos
The Broncos could be putrid in Year 2 of Sean Payton's tenure. The quarterback situation is in flux and some of the better players on the team have been shipped out. It's a clear rebuild in Denver, so get those tickets ready for Fewest Wins in the NFL for the Broncos.
National Football Conference
Here is my look at the NFC and its projected results.
Prediction: Green Bay Packers to win the NFC
Arizona Cardinals
The Cardinals only won four games a year ago but looked competent down the stretch, once injured quarterback Kyler Murray returned to the field from a torn ACL. The offense should be the bright spot in 2024, although some major holes on defense have kept Arizona from being projected as a playoff team. They've improved since last season and have won 2 games already.
Los Angeles Rams
The Rams exceeded expectations in 2023, as they were able to re-tool on the fly. The retirement of Aaron Donald looms large on defense, but the offense has some serious talent and is directed by one of the sharpest coaching minds in the league in Sean McVay.
Seattle Seahawks
The Seahawks moved on from longtime coach Pete Carroll at the end of the year. They look to be a pretty average team unless the new staff is able to improve the defense and help quarterback Geno Smith reach another level.
San Francisco 49ers
The 49ers have everything you want in a contender, as they boast the deepest roster in the NFL. Quarterback Brock Purdy will still have something to prove in 2024, which comes with the territory when a guy is the last pick in the draft. San Francisco will have some salary cap decisions to make after this year, but for now this team should be a juggernaut once again.
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys looked like one of the best teams in the NFL in 2023 before fizzling out in the postseason, which has happened far too often of late. They will run it back with Dak Prescott, CeeDee Lamb, Micah Parsons, and Co. leading the way, and I do expect this team to be better than many expect. There is still a lot of talent in Dallas.
New York Giants
On the flip side, this should be one of the worst teams in the NFL. The Giants made a mistake in extending Daniel Jones and are now in a bit of a quagmire at quarterback. New York does have a good defensive line but the lack of potency on offense is a huge concern.
Philadelphia Eagles
The Eagles went into a tailspin at the end of 2023 following their Super Bowl appearance the year prior. Philly is always pushing the envelope when it comes to player acquisition, and GM Howie Roseman should have this team back in contention again this year.
Washington Commanders
The Commanders are rebooting, which seems to be said every two years with this franchise. A rookie quarterback is bound to deal with some struggles, and another year among the worst in the NFL seems likely.
Chicago Bears
The Bears have been bad for a while but should start seeing some progress, especially if No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams plays well out of the gate. Chicago has enough pieces to go from also-ran to legitimate contender as soon as 2024.
Detroit Lions
The Lions have built a really nice team and are fresh off an NFC Championship Game appearance. Key cogs like Amon-Ra St. Brown and Penei Sewell were recently signed to lucrative contract extensions, and this team has the look of a perennial contender provided quarterback Jared Goff plays well.
Green Bay Packers
The Packers went 9-8 last season and beat the Cowboys in the NFC Wild Card Round before losing a close one to the 49ers in the Divisional Round. Quarterback Jordan Love really found a groove halfway through the season, and this young offense could be one of the most exciting in the NFL in 2024. I'm all in on any Green Bay futures bets.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings have a decent club, but the departure of Kirk Cousins is going to sting in the short term. Minnesota could bounce back quickly if the quarterback position gets figured out, but for now this looks like the worst team in the NFC North.
New Orleans Saints
The Saints refused to pull the cord and reboot and thus will be stuck in purgatory once again in 2024. Good enough to win some games, but not good enough to truly contend. That is not a good place to be.
Atlanta Falcons
Kirk Cousins has moved on to Atlanta, where expectations are high. But if his injury from 2023, or his age, or his switch to a new offense hinders the progress, the Falcons could have trouble living up to the playoff projections.
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers have a new coaching staff in place, and the objective is to turn Bryce Young's career around after a wretched rookie campaign. It's hard to know if that can happen, and Carolina is in a world of hurt if it does not.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
The Buccaneers surprised many by making it to the playoffs a season ago, and are now running it back with Baker Mayfield at quarterback. This team still has a lot of talent on each side of the ball, but the ceiling will be determined by Mayfield's ability to put another solid season together.
Frequently Asked Questions
Why Trust in NFL Computer Predictions?
BettingOdds uses a complex computer algorithm that will simulate a game thousands of times to come up with its prediction. It takes out any bias from a human making the pick and gives a bettor a good view at a machine's perception for NFL best bets each week.
Which Sportsbook Should I Use To Make My NFL Best Bets?
This isn't a one-size-fits-all answer, as all the sportsbooks offer different pros and cons. However, operators like DraftKings, FanDuel, BetMGM, and Caesars are among the best, and signing up for all of them is a great idea because then a user can compare the odds and make the top value wager.
How Quickly Can NFL Odds Change?
Quite quickly, especially if a major injury happens at quarterback. Like with the Bengals a season ago, the Burrow injury torpedoed their title chances, while the odds for the AFC contenders got better. The odds can also change early in the season when the sportsbooks get to see some teams in action and determine which ones will out-perform or underperform their expected outcomes from the preseason.
Does the Computer Predict Player Props?
Yes! Our sophisticated computer projection system will not only predict the final score of games, but also player totals. These can be compared to over/under marks at the legal sportsbooks, and bettors can determine if there is some good value to be had that week.
