Australian Open Odds & Betting Picks

The Australian Open is the first Tennis Grand Slam of the calendar year and takes place in Albert Park, Melbourne. Traditionally it takes place in late January through to early February. In 2021 however, the tournament was pushed back three weeks as part of the Australian response to the Coronavirus pandemic.

Since 1988 the event has taken place on hard courts. Before that, it was another grass Grand Slam tournament.

The latest odds will be listed below when available...

Who have been the most successful players at the event?

In the Open era, it has been Serena Williams who has dominated the event on the women's side of the draw. With seven victories between 2003 and 2017, her record at Albert Park is unparalleled. She defeated her sister for her first and seventh titles. Margaret Court has the most titles with 11 but seven of them occurred during the amateur era. Other successful players at the Australian Open include Evonne Goolagong, Steffi Graf, Monica Seles, Monica Hingis, and Martina Navratilova.

Tennis Odds

For the men, two players have been at the forefront of the event in the 21st Century. Novak Djokovic has won the event nine times between 2008 and 2021. The Serbian has proved that Melbourne is where he does his best work at the Grand Slam level. Roger Federer has won the tournament six times with Andre Agassi and Swede Mats Wilander the only other two players to have lifted the trophy more than three times in the Open era. Australians Roy Emerson (6) and Jack Crawford (4) had success at the amateur event with Ken Rosewall straddling the two eras with two wins at each.

What happened in 2021?

The 2021 Australian Open saw the two betting favorites lift their respective trophies in the Singles competitions. Novak Djokovic cruised to a straight-sets win over Daniil Medvedev with Naomi Osaka winning her second Grand Slam down under with a 6-4 6-3 win over American sensation Jennifer Brady.
