How do you bet on Tennis?
There are plenty of options to bet on tennis with US Sportsbooks and we'll take you through some of the most popular here:
Futures Bet: This is where you bet on the winner of a tournament.
Match Betting: This is another very easy to understand bet. You are betting on who will win the match. No handicap included.
Set Betting: Sportsbooks will often offer markets deeper than who will win the match. You can often bet on each individual set.
Handicap Betting: This where is gets a little bit more fancy. You can bet on each match with a handicap. If say the Sportsbook believes Rafael Nadal will beat Roger Federer on clay by five games - they'll offer Nadal -5.5 or -4.5 games. We'll say they are offering Nadal -5.5 - that mean if he wins 6-3, 6-3 and you backed Nadal, you win but if you backed Federer +5.5, you'll lose. Yet if he wins 6-3, 6-4 then you'll lose and bettors of Federer +5.5 will win.
Over/Under Betting: This is where bettors can bet on how many games each match will have. The Sportsbook will put up a number and you have to bet whether they'll be more or less games. For example in the same three-set Nadal v Federer match they may set the line at 27 games - believing it'll be close and go to three sets. A straight set win for either player will see the under winning but a close three-set match 6-4, 4-6, 7-5 and the over will win.
Tennis Parlays: You can place bets on multiple matches on one bet slip. To win these bets you need every leg to come in. The odds will be much longer than straight single bets on each game but the payout will be significantly more.
