The event was held from May 20-23 2021 at the Kiawah Island Golf Resort's Ocean Course in South Carolina, only the second time a major tournament had been played over the course. It was won by 50-year-old Phil Mickelson who claimed his second PGA Championship title and his sixth major, making him the old oldest player on record to win a major. He won by just two strokes ahead of runners-up Louis Oosthuizen and Brooks Koepka claiming the $1.9m prize for Champion from the $11m prize fund.
