NFL Draft Betting: Drake Maye, Jayden Daniels Top Candidates to be No. 2 Overall Pick

Caleb Williams is looking more and more like a shoo-in to be the first pick of the draft.
The No. 2 overall pick has a bit more intrigue.
North Carolina quarterback Drake Maye has been listed as the favorite to go second in odds released by FanDuel on February 6th, but LSU quarterback Jayden Daniels is also in the mix.
While Maye has been the consensus No. 2 prospect for months, Daniels has been picking up steam after winning the 2023 Heisman Trophy, and was recently mocked to the Washington Commanders at No. 2 by respected draft analyst Lance Zierlein.
Here are the odds to be the No. 2 overall pick in the draft, which can be wagered on at FanDuel:
No. 2 Overall Pick in the NFL Draft
- Drake Maye -250
- Jayden Daniels +300
- Caleb Williams +1000
- Marvin Harrison, Jr. +1400
- Joe Alt +7500
- Olu Fashanu +7500
- Bo Nix +10000
- Rome Odunze +10000
- Michael Penix Jr. +10000
- Malik Nabers +10000
- Brock Bowers +10000
- J.C. Latham +10000
- Dallas Turner +10000
- Laiatu Latu +10000
- J.J. McCarthy +10000
- Jared Verse +10000
The Commanders recently hired Kliff Kingsbury as offensive coordinator, leading to speculation that they could be making a push to move up to No. 1 and draft Williams.
FanDuel doesn’t find that very likely, as the Bears are listed at -600 to stay at No. 1 and make a pick, with any other team listed at +380 to pick first.
Caleb Williams has -1200 odds to go No. 1, which is why the decision for Washington will likely come down to Maye or Daniels. Sam Howell finished No. 24 in Total QBR in 2023, and with a new regime on the way, the Commanders are expected to take one of the two quarterbacks to kickstart a rebuild.
If Washington is able to trade up for Williams, then the No. 2 pick suddenly has another legitimate option. The Bears could stick with Justin Fields at quarterback and choose Marvin Harrison, Jr., who is considered one of the best wide receiver prospects of the past two decades.
Harrison has +1400 odds because the Commanders are unlikely to take him, and Chicago could still be in on a quarterback in a trade-down scenario, but it’s not entirely unrealistic.
Maye was long seen as the No. 2 quarterback in this draft and still sits in that spot heading into the NFL Scouting Combine, but Daniels has closed that gap.
There is still a lot to be decided, from potential trades to the zeroing in on prospects. For now, Maye-to-the-Commanders is the expectation. We will see if that eventually happens when the draft rolls around in April.
