Cardinals vs. Texans NFL Week 11 Odds: Kyler Murray, C.J. Stroud and Trey McBride Player Prop Bets, Predictions
The Cardinals are coming off a thrilling win over the Falcons last week, and would really turn some heads if they beat the upstart Texans on the road Sunday.
Check out my prediction for that game and every other in Week 11.
Here are my three favorite prop bet picks for this matchup.
Prop Bet Pick: Cardinals QB Kyler Murray Over/Under 29.5 Rushing Yards
I took the under on this prop last week because it was Murray’s first game back from a torn ACL and figured designed runs would be limited.
That ended up being true – but Murray still hit the over due to that insane late-game scramble which picked up 13 yards and gave him 33 against the Falcons.
While the designed runs still may be minimal against Houston, it’s clear the explosiveness is back for Murray, who hit 20.17 mph against the Falcons and made the Atlanta defenders look like they were in slow motion.
The Texans are fifth in the NFL in hurry percentage and seventh in pressure percentage, so even though they don’t blitz a ton, it could force Murray outside the pocket regularly.
Additionally, the Cardinals could be trailing late, as they have moved to 5.5-point underdogs, which gives us more chances at scramble yardage.
This is a big number and Murray will need to have a handful of scrambles to reach it, but he’s just so damn electric with his feet I can’t take the under again.
Prediction: Kyler Murray over 29.5 rushing yards (-115 at DraftKings)
Prop Bet Pick: Cardinals TE Trey McBride Over/Under 54.5 Receiving Yards
It was an instant connection between McBride and Murray, as the second-year tight end went off for eight catches and 131 yards against the Falcons.
He’s been trending up for weeks, first taking over the starting role from Zach Ertz and then becoming a top option in the passing game.
If there’s one thing we know about Murray, it’s that he will feed players that he thinks can get the job done. DeAndre Hopkins and Hollywood Brown are two examples, and now McBride could be entering that group.
This is a big uptick in the over/under, as he was previously sitting in the 20s, but the upgrade at quarterback is big, McBride should be playing almost full-time on offense now, and this one could be a shootout.
Prediction: Trey McBride over 54.5 Receiving Yards (-115 at BetMGM)
Prop Bet Pick: Texans QB C.J. Stroud Longest Completion Over/Under 37.5 Yards
Stroud has been really good this year and straight-up amazing the past two weeks against the Buccaneers and Bengals.
He has a receiving core that’s been much better than expected, led by Nico Collins, Tank Dell and Noah Brown.
The Cardinals’ secondary was a sieve for the early portion of the season, but it’s looked better lately because star safeties Budda Baker and Jalen Thompson have returned to the lineup.
The cornerback situation is still shoddy, but those two safeties play a big role in my thought process on this bet, along with Stroud’s recent dominance.
My guess is Jonathan Gannon and Nick Rallis play a lot of two-high safeties to make Stroud throw underneath passes. With Baker and Thompson back there, it should take away a lot of the big plays.
Arizona hasn’t blitzed too much this year, and the development of B.J. Ojulari and some of the other edge-rushers will allow that to remain the same against Houston.
It’s the slight underdog play, but I don’t think Stroud connects with a pass-catcher for 38 or more yards in this one.
Prediction: Stroud longest completion under 37.5 yards (-110 at BetMGM)
