NFL Draft Betting: Buffalo Bills the Favorite to Select Texas Wide Receiver Xavier Worthy

Xavier Worthy flew at the NFL Scouting Combine.
Now, where is the Texas wide receiver going to land?
Worthy is projected to go either in the late-first or early-second round of the NFL draft next month, and the Buffalo Bills are the current favorites to select him.
The Bills have the No. 28 overall pick and the pairing would certainly make sense after the offseason departure of Gabriel Davis and the advancing age of Stefon Diggs.
Buffalo quarterback Josh Allen may have the strongest arm in the league, which would mesh well with Worthy, who ran a record 4.21-second 40-yard dash at the combine.
Here is a look at the top-8 candidates to draft Xavier Worthy, which can be gambled on at FanDuel sportsbook.
Odds to Draft Xavier Worthy at FanDuel
- Buffalo Bills +500
- Carolina Panthers +800
- Dallas Cowboys +900
- Kansas City Chiefs +900
- Los Angeles Chargers +900
- Houston Texans +900
- Arizona Cardinals +1400
- Cincinnati Bengals +1400
There are certainly some interesting teams on this list, so let’s dive in.
Bills (+500): Buffalo had to shed some key players this offseason due to salary cap constraints and will be aiming to remake the roster on the fly. This is still a very good team, and an infusion of talented young players will help keep it that way for the foreseeable future. The Bills could use a cornerback and other pieces but Worthy could be intriguing at the end of the first round.
Panthers (+800): Carolina traded for Diontae Johnson this offseason and has veteran Adam Thielen on the roster, but it’s almost certain the Panthers bolster the wide receiver corps through the draft. Worthy would be an interesting pick because it could help stretch the field and make life easier on quarterback Bryce Young. The Panthers have the first pick of the second round, No. 33 overall, as well as pick No. 39.
Cowboys (+900): This could be a very smooth transition, as Brandin Cooks is the current big-play threat for Dallas, and he could eventually make way for Worthy. Dallas has CeeDee Lamb and Jake Ferguson among its pass-catching weapons, and adding someone like Worthy could be a boon for the offense.
Chiefs (+900): Kansas City was once the favorite to draft Worthy, but those odds have lengthened after the signing of Hollywood Brown. While they have similar skillsets, the Chiefs could still make this move with the future in mind, since Brown is only on a one-year contract.
Chargers (+900): If the Chargers stick at No. 5, they could take Malik Nabers or Marvin Harrison, Jr., and the likelihood of drafting another wide receiver would drop. But there is a lot of chatter about them trading down, and if Los Angeles gets the No. 23 overall pick from the Vikings, Worthy could be the target. The Chargers also have the No. 37 overall pick.
Texans (+900): This one actually confuses me quite a bit. Houston already has Nico Collins, Tank Dell, Robert Woods, Noah Brown and John Metchie in the receiver room. They also don’t draft until No. 42 overall after the trade with the Vikings and would seem to have other needs.
Cardinals (+1400): The Cardinals definitely need at least one receiver from the draft class. Marvin Harrison, Jr. is the odds-on favorite to land with them at No. 4, but there is also plenty of talk about a potential trade back with the Vikings. If Arizona trades back, it would have pick Nos. 23, 27 and 35 with a dire need for a wideout, so this would be a really solid bet. Even if Harrison, Jr. is the pick, the Cardinals are sparse enough at the position that they could consider doubling up with someone who has a complementary skillset.
Bengals (+1400): The Bengals still have Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins leading the way, but it’s uncertain if Higgins will be a long-term part of the club. Adding a player like Worthy as a deep ball threat would be intriguing, because he could plenty of 1-on-1 looks due to the gravity caused by Chase’s greatness. Cincinnati picks at No. 18 and then again at No. 49.
