Next Team Odds: Where Will Justin Fields Be Traded?

The next team odds are out for Justin Fields, and the top trade destination is not a surprise.
The Atlanta Falcons badly need a quarterback and they are the favorites to acquire the Bears’ signal-caller if he is dealt.
Atlanta has +140 odds to be Fields’ next team, though Chicago keeping him is actually listed at even odds early on. Most expect the Bears to trade Fields and draft Caleb Williams, so DraftKings has gone against the grain with these odds.
Here is a look at the next team odds for Justin Fields, per DraftKings on February 6th:
Next Team Odds For Justin Fields
- Chicago Bears +100
- Atlanta Falcons +140
- Las Vegas Raiders +450
- Seattle Seahawks +750
- Denver Broncos +1600
- Pittsburgh Steelers +1600
- New England Patriots +1600
- Minnesota Vikings +2200
- Washington Commanders +3000
- Tennessee Titans +4000
Let’s take a look at each possibility.
Chicago Bears (+100): This one is surprising, as the Bears currently have -600 odds to keep the No. 1 overall pick over at FanDuel, where they would be exceedingly likely to draft Caleb Williams as their new quarterback.
Maybe the oddsmakers at DraftKings have less faith in that happening, but it’s certainly the most likely scenario at this point. Fields could conceivably be kept and then take his first snap of 2024 with Chicago, but the trend of late has been for top rookie prospects to start out of the gate.
Atlanta Falcons (+140): Atlanta has some intriguing skill guys but Desmond Ridder wasn’t the answer at quarterback. New coach Raheem Morris will need to decide what he wants to do at the position, which could include trading up in the draft for someone like Jayden Daniels.
Among the veteran options, Fields would make a lot of sense, and the cost to acquire him would not likely be more than a Day 2 pick. This is the deserved favorite if Fields plays somewhere else in 2024.
Las Vegas Raiders (+450): Las Vegas gave interim coach Antonio Pierce the full-time position, but Kliff Kingsbury backed out as the offensive coordinator and now the guy will be former Bears OC Luke Getsy.
Would Las Vegas be interested in pairing them up again? It seems doubtful. The offense wasn’t great in Chicago and the Raiders could look elsewhere. These odds seem too steep.
Seattle Seahawks (+750): This one feels like a longshot. Geno Smith has been solid since taking over as the starter and is on a reasonable contract. Fields is younger and more of a rushing threat, but it feels like this would be a lateral move, at best.
A new coaching regime may have different thoughts but a Seahawks trade for Fields would be a big surprise.
Pittsburgh Steelers (+1600): This is an interesting pairing. Kenny Pickett doesn’t seem like the guy. Maybe Fields would excel for a club that traditionally plays great defense and has a strong rushing attack.
Maybe not the most likely destination, but at 16/1 odds, a value play.
Denver Broncos (+1600): Russell Wilson is widely expected to be released this offseason, and Denver isn’t drafting high enough to choose one of the three top quarterback prospects unless it trades up.
The second tier of rookies could be in play, but if Denver wants to be more competitive in 2024, a trade for Fields while drafting someone could be a natural move
New England Patriots (+1600): New England has the third pick in the draft, which means new coach Jerod Mayo is guaranteed one of Caleb Williams, Drake Maye or Jayden Daniels if he chooses the prospect route. However, star wide receiver Marvin Harrison, Jr. is also a possibility, and trading for Fields would open that up even more.
Minnesota Vikings (+2200): The Vikings seem to badly want a young quarterback to build around, although the draft seems more likely than Fields. There is also the caveat that these teams play in the same division, although it’s unknown if that would stall any potential trade talks.
Minnesota will need a quarterback if Kirk Cousins leaves in free agency, but Fields does not seem like a true option.
Washington Commanders (+3000): It would be shocking if Washington traded for Fields, as everyone expects the Commanders to draft Maye or Daniels at No. 2. He also doesn’t seem like a very good fit for the quick game offense run by Kliff Kingsbury.
Tennessee Titans (+4000): A deserved longshot here. Will Levis did enough to warrant clear-cut starter status heading into his second season, just as long as new coach Brian Callahan agrees with that sentiment.
