Next Team Odds: Saquon Barkley Favored to Stay With Giants, but Texans Lurk

The New York Giants are not expected to franchise tag Saquon Barkley this offseason, per ESPN, which would clear the way for the talented running back to hit free agency.
Barkley has spoken openly about playing his whole career for the Giants, and the oddsmakers at DraftKings still believe a return to the G-Men is still the most likely scenario.
Barkley’s next team odds have been unveiled, and remaining with New York has been listed as the odds-on favorite at -150. However, the Houston Texans and Los Angeles Chargers are not far behind.
Here is a look at the next team odds for Saquon Barkley, which can be wagered on at DraftKings.
Saquon Barkley Next Team Odds
- New York Giants -150
- Houston Texans +220
- Los Angeles Chargers +500
- Philadelphia Eagles +1600
- Chicago Bears +2200
- Minnesota Vikings +2200
- Baltimore Ravens +2500
- Tennessee Titans +2500
- Las Vegas Raiders +3000
- Dallas Cowboys +3500
- Cincinnati Bengals +4000
- Carolina Panthers +5000
Let’s break down the options, with a best value pick at the end.
New York Giants (-150): The Giants know Barkley’s value, as he has been their most dynamic offensive weapon for years. Coach Brian Daboll is feeling some heat after a bad season, and New York won’t want to take a step back in 2024.
Barkley probably means more to the Giants than any potential suitor, so New York should come to the table with a solid offer, but it’s no sure thing he stays because others will now be in the mix.
Houston Texans (+220): This destination makes a lot of sense. The Texans made a surprising run to the AFC Divisional Round in 2023 and look set to be a contender in the near future. The passing game is set up great with quarterback C.J. Stroud throwing to stellar wideouts Nico Collins and Tank Dell.
Barkley would give the offense another weapon, and with Stroud on a cheap rookie contract for the next three seasons, Houston has the cap space to make a push if it values Barkley enough.
Los Angeles Chargers (+500): Jim Harbaugh is the head coach in Los Angeles now, and it would make sense for him to find an every-down running back to help take the pressure off star quarterback Justin Herbert.
Incumbent Austin Ekeler is an unrestricted free agent and is unlikely to return, so this adds up.
Philadelphia Eagles (+1600): The Eagles probably won’t be willing to pay Barkley his going rate, as the analytics-heavy front office does not see that much value in running backs.
But if the market is soft, then maybe Philly swoops in to pair Barkley with Jalen Hurts in the backfield. The Eagles fell apart down the stretch, and maybe this is the type of move that could help get the offense back on track in 2024.
Chicago Bears (+2200): The Bears have Khalil Herbert and Roscon Johnson under contract for 2024, so the addition of Barkley doesn’t seem likely. But Chicago has cap space, and if it wants a star in the backfield to help out presumptive No. 1 pick Caleb Williams, maybe the Bears shock the NFL and sign Barkley.
Minnesota Vikings (+2200): The Vikings just cut Dalvin Cook last offseason and are reportedly looking to add a young quarterback for 2024. If that happens, the addition of Barkley wouldn’t make much sense.
But if Kirk Cousins comes back on a short-term deal, maybe Minnesota considers it. Still feels like a longshot.
Baltimore Ravens (+2500): Can you imagine Lamar Jackson and Saquon Barkley in the same backfield? Talk about nightmare fuel for defenses.
But it’s highly doubtful the Ravens spend big on a running back. Their team was so good last year that the focus will likely be bringing back those key pieces.
Tennessee Titans (+2500): Derrick Henry out, Saquon Barkley in? The Titans have found some success playing run-oriented football, but that’s not how new coach Brian Callahan operates.
Not the worst bet in the world because the Titans will have some cap space moving forward with Will Levis on a rookie contract.
Las Vegas Raiders (+3000): Josh Jacobs is a free agent. If he leaves, does that open the door for Barkley? Possibly. I don’t hate it at these odds.
Dallas Cowboys (+3500): The Cowboys would be better-served using their resources elsewhere, but you never know with Jerry Jones.
Cincinnati Bengals (+4000): The Bengals have a decent amount of cap room but will be focused on keeping Tee Higgins from going to another team. If he leaves, does the door open for Barkley to be a splash addition?
Joe Mixon can be cut if Cincy chooses to go in a different direction at running back.
Carolina Panthers (+5000): The Panthers definitely need help on offense, but wide receiver is the skill position they are expected to target. Barkley has a say in his destination and may not want to play for a team in such dire straits.
Best bet: Las Vegas Raiders to sign Saquon Barkley at +3000 odds
