Kyler Murray, Christian McCaffrey and Matt Prater Prop Bets for Cardinals vs. 49ers in Week 15

It feels like it’s been a long time since we’ve dropped some Arizona Cardinals prop bets, but fear not, for they have returned.
Here are my three favorite player props for Cardinals vs. 49ers in Week 15. And check out my spread prediction for the game as well.
Prop Bet Pick: Cardinals QB Kyler Murray Over/Under 21.5 Pass Completions
Murray is coming off a game in which he completed only 13 passes against the Steelers, and he’s only surpassed 21 completions in one of his four games.
The offense is clearly more run-heavy than it was under Kliff Kingsbury, but I still like the over on this bet.
The Cardinals are double-digit underdogs, which could mean plenty of passing game volume late. Additionally, Hollywood Brown and Michael Wilson should be back, which will give Murray his full complement of receivers.
And then there is the possibility that the 49ers employ a soft pass-rush like they did against the Eagles to keep Murray in the pocket. If that happens, Murray will be happy to sit in there and make his throws.
Murray’s completion percentage sits at a career-low 60.8% this season but I think that’s due for some positive regression.
Prediction: Kyler Murray over 21.5 completions (-102 odds at FanDuel)
Prop Bet Pick: 49ers RB Christian McCaffrey Over/Under 3.5 Receptions
McCaffrey has been sensational this season and is second in Offensive Player of the Year odds behind only Tyreek Hill. And while he’s a great pass-catcher, most of his damage has been done running the ball this season, and I think that continues here.
The Cardinals won’t be able to stop the San Francisco ground game, which is going to lead to a run-heavy script.
Then when Brock Purdy does throw the ball, he should be able to hit his first or second read downfield because Arizona will struggle to both cover the pass-catchers and pressure the quarterback.
There could be a designed screen pass or two for McCaffrey in this game, but I don’t think checkdowns will be needed too often, thus pushing me on the under side of this bet.
Prediction: Christian McCaffrey under 3.5 receptions (+106 at FanDuel)
Prop Bet Pick: Cardinals K Matt Prater Over/Under 4.5 Points
It’s been a lean stretch for Prater, who has only reached five points or more in two of his past seven games. But the belief in him remains high, as the Cardinals are still willing to give him chances at long field goals when available.
The return of Murray has helped as now the offense is more efficient, and I like that there are two very realistic ways to get five points in this one: Prater can boot two or more field goals, or he can kick one and nail two extra points.
If the score gets lopsided early, the kicking game will be shelved, but I believe Arizona will remain competitive for long enough so Prater can reach five points.
Prediction: Matt Prater over 4.5 points (-140 at BetMGM)
- Last Time: 1-2
- Overall Props Bet Record: 44-36
