Arizona Cardinals vs. Cincinnati Bengals: Ja’Marr Chase, Joe Burrow and Michael Wilson Prop Bets for Week 5
The Cincinnati Bengals’ offense has been a major disappointment this season, but gets a good matchup on Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals’ leaky defense.
Can ailing quarterback Joe Burrow get right in this one? Here is my preview of the contest.
And here are three prop bets to consider. Odds accurate as of October 6th.
Prop Bet Pick: Bengals WR Ja’Marr Chase Over/Under 78.5 Receiving Yards
Ja’Marr Chase is one of the most talented wide receivers in the NFL, and even despite paltry passing game numbers for the Bengals, he is still averaging 71 receiving yards per game on the season.
Chase has only reached 79 receiving yards in one game this year but I like his chances here.
The Cardinals’ de facto No. 1 cornerback, Marco Wilson, has struggled all season, and rookie Kei’Trel Clark is on the other side. Tee Higgins seems to be trending toward playing, which would help keep the Cardinals from putting a safety over the top of Chase most of the time.
Burrow does a great job of getting his star wideout the ball, and the Bengals are always trying to scheme advantageous opportunities.
I think this will be a big game for Chase against the Cardinals.
Prediction: Ja’Marr Chase over 78.5 receiving yards (-115 at BetMGM)
Prop Bet Pick: Bengals QB Joe Burrow Over/Under 1.5 Passing Touchdowns
Joe Burrow has two touchdown passes all season, and zero in his past two games. Pretty remarkable.
For that reason, we have about even odds on both sides of the ledger, which I like as a buy-low opportunity. When he was healthy last season, Burrow had two touchdown passes or more in 11 of 16 games.
The conditions will be ideal and the Cardinals’ defense has not exhibited much of a pass-rush lately. The ailing calf is a concern, but as Burrow continues to get healthier his numbers should improve, and I’ll take these depressed odds.
Prediction: Joe Burrow over 1.5 touchdown passes (-110 at DraftKings)
Arizona Cardinals WR Michael Wilson Over/Under 37.5 Receiving Yards
Wilson has been one of the best mid-round draft picks in the NFL through four weeks, totaling 14 catches for 237 yards and two touchdowns.
This has come on only 16 targets, as quarterback Joshua Dobbs has a perfect passer rating when targeting his rookie wideout.
Can Wilson keep it up against the Bengals?
The thing that’s most encouraging is his usage. Wilson dipped to playing less than half the time in Week 2, but has since seen the field on 67% and 70% of the offensive snaps in the past two games.
In that time, he has nine targets and has caught them all for 162 yards.
The chemistry seems to be growing with Dobbs and I think the Cardinals will be throwing in the second half while trying to rally from a deficit.
This number is more than attainable for Wilson, who looks like a potential steal as a third-round pick.
Prediction: Michael Wilson over 37.5 receiving yards (-115 at BetMGM)
Prop Bets Record This Week: 2-1
Overall: 23-15
