Week 2 MNF Predictions: Najee Harris, Nick Chubb and Kenny Pickett Prop Bet Picks for Steelers-Browns 9/18/23
The Pittsburgh Steelers face off with the Cleveland Browns on Monday Night Football, where a certain theme could quickly develop.
Quarterbacks Kenny Pickett and Deshaun Watson both struggled in their respective openers, and each team boasts an upper-tier pass-rush. Add it all together, and running the ball should be the name of the game in this matchup.
The Browns are 2-point road favorites and the scoring total is listed at only 38.5 points, per DraftKings.
Here is a look at three prop bet predictions for the Steelers vs. the Browns on Monday Night Football.
Pittsburgh Steelers RB Najee Harris Over/Under 13.5 Rushing Attempts
Harris had only six rushing attempts against the 49ers in the opener, but that’s because the game quickly went sideways.
He ripped off 5.2 yards per carry and should be fresh for this matchup. Harris has been a workhorse before and Pittsburgh would like to put Pickett in manageable situations.
This game could be a defensive battle and both coaches could play conservatively. That means a big uptick in rushing attempts for Harris, which is why I like the over on this play.
Prediction: Najee Harris Over 13.5 Rushing Attempts (-115 at DraftKings)
Cleveland Browns RB Nick Chubb Over/Under 83.5 Rushing Yards
Chubb is the model of consistency, averaging more than five yards per carry in every season of his career thus far. He had 106 yards on 18 attempts in the opener against the Bengals and should be fed plenty in this one as well.
Chubb has an over/under of 17.5 rushing attempts for this matchup. I think he will be in that neighborhood but feel more confident in betting on his pure talent.
The Steelers got diced up by Christian McCaffrey in the opener and I think Chubb has a big game here, finishing with 84 or more rushing yards.
Prediction: Nick Chubb Over 83.5 Rushing Yards (-115 at DraftKings)
Pittsburgh Steelers QB Kenny Pickett Over/Under 30.5 Pass Attempts
We are riding with this thought all the way through. Pickett was forced to throw the ball 46 times in the opener and was awful.
The Steelers don’t want to put that much on his right arm and would prefer to remain balanced. I don’t think the Browns will pull away in this game. In fact, I could see the Steelers winning a defensive battle.
With that in mind, Pickett is the pick to be used sparingly and in advantageous spots. I like the under on 30.5 pass attempts for Pickett in this Steelers-Browns Monday Night Football matchup.
Prediction: Kenny Pickett Under 30.5 Pass Attempts (-115 at DraftKings)
