Washington vs. Bills Predictions: WFT a big price on the Moneyline
Washington travel to Buffalo on Sunday as an eight-point underdog but there should be some optimism that they can cover but can they win outright?
Neil Monnery takes a look…
Let us start with a Buffalo team who shut out Miami last week. A 35-0 result was not an unfair reflection for how the game went. As soon as the Dolphins saw QB Tua Tagovailoa exit the game early, it became a rout. Josh Allen saw his defense keep the opposition down to just 182 yards through the air and 65 on the ground. Outstanding numbers from what is a very good D.
As for the offense, they could play very well within themselves and still put up 35 points. Josh Allen himself had a lukewarm day going 17 for 33 and only 179 yards. Devin Singletary had 13 carries for 82 yards to lead the ground game.
Washington won a thriller last Thursday night with a last second FG topping the New York Giants. Taylor Heinicke has shown plenty in his short NFL career and his 34/46 for 336 yard stat line was more than impressive. With the likes of Terry McLaurin (who is a true WR1) to hit, the 28 year-old has every opportunity to win the starting job even when Ryan Fitzpatrick returns.
Antonio Gibson and JD McKissic are a decent 1-2 punch in the backfield. The former went for 69 yards on 13 carries last time out and the latter was a big factor in the passing game with five receptions for 83 yards.
What I really like about the Football Team however is that dominating front four who can really stuff an opposition O-Line. They may not have balled out last week but they were able to do just enough. What they struggled with however was defending the RPO and they will need to get that sorted ahead of facing just a fine running QB in Josh Allen.
Spread:
Eight points to me is an awful lot and whilst I think Buffalo are a very good side, I’ll happily gobble up the points and take the Football Team.
Straight-up/Moneyline:
I’m really struggling here as whilst I think Buffalo clearly win this game more times than they don’t - +325 for the straight up win for the visitors screams of value to me. I’ll roll the dice and take the Football Team.
Over/Under Points Totals:
45.5 points is the number and that feels like a good number. I’ve got Washington winning 23-20 so I’ll slide on the under.
