Philadelphia Eagles Over/Under Wins Odds 2021: Don't expect fireworks in Philly

A good year in Philly is not what Zach Rainey is expecting when it comes to their beloved Eagles...
The Philadelphia Eagles are in for a rough year.
Doug Pederson was let go from Philly in truly an ugly fashion after winning the Super Bowl just a few seasons ago.
Enter Nick Sirianni. He failed to make a good first impression and looked like he had absolutely no clue what he was talking about. You could’ve turned his press conference into a drinking game. Any time he said the word “systems” take a drink. You would’ve been hammered after a minute.
As of right now, it looks like Jalen Hurts will be the starter, but the team did bring in Joe Flacco to be more of a traditional quarterback if needed. That’s a red flag for me. Most of the time, if your priority is to win, the backup you bring in should be pretty close in skill-set to your starter. Like what the Ravens have in Baltmore. Robert Griffin III is Lamar’s backup. Is he as good as Lamar or even close? No. Would they have to switch their play-calling and their scheme up that much if they had to bring him in? Also no.
I am excited to see what Jalen Reagor does in year two. Last year, Greg Ward was arguable the team’s best receiver after Travis Fulgham had a few good weeks and then cooled down.
Right now, the best unit on this team remains their offensive line, but the big three of Jason Kelce, Brandon Brooks and Lane Johnson are all over 30 now, which makes me wonder about whether they can stay on the field all year.
Dallas Goedert is now the No. 1 tight end over Zach Ertz. The Eagles could’ve traded him in the middle of last season for about 40 cents on the dollar, but would be lucky to get 20 now.
There is some excitement around the franchise, as they brought in Heisman Trophy winning wide receiver DeVonta Smith. I like Smith, but there’s some people out there who still wonder whether his size will be an issue and that if his speed is enough in this league.
I’ve always liked Derek Barnett since the team drafted him out of Tennessee and I think he’ll have a good year on the left defensive end spot. Brandon Graham and Ryan Kerrigan will compete for time at the right defensive end spot and could turn into a situational thing.
Fletcher Cox returns, but is also 30. He had 6.5 sacks last season, tied for 36th in the league.
If you’re following along, a lot of Philly’s proven players are over the age of 30, so I think the organization will have to make a choice at some point whether to bring in certain guys to capitalize on the veterans they do have, or blow it up.
I’ll be kind and give the Eagles a Week 1 win over Atlanta, but think they fall at home to San Francisco in Week 2, followed by losses at Dallas and at home against Kansas City. I’ll give them a win at Carolina, but have them falling to the Bucs.
Vegas and Detroit will be 50/50 games. They could steal a game at Denver and I think they’ll split with Washington. They’ll get a win on the road against the New York Jets in Week 13. The home game against the Giants could turn into a 50/50 game, as those NFC East teams always play each other tough.
At the end of the day, I have Philly at five wins, assuming they come out on the right side of those 50.50 games, so it could be less. With their win total over/under at seven, I’ll take the under and look for the dysfunction to continue in the City of Brotherly Love.
