NFL Draft Odds: Bears Heavy Favorites to Land No. 1 Pick Through Panthers

There is only one win separating the Panthers and Cardinals at the bottom of the NFL standings, but multiple advanced analytical sites have pegged Carolina as the heavy favorite to finish with the No. 1 overall pick in the draft.
That is great news for the Bears, who own the Panthers’ first-rounder by virtue of the Bryce Young trade before last year’s draft.
Here is a look at the chances to land the top pick from FTN Fantasy’s DVOA:
- Bears, 66.4%
- Cardinals, 19.0%
- Patriots, 10.4%
And here are the numbers from ESPN’s Football Power Index:
- Bears, 67.0%
- Cardinals, 19.7%
- Patriots, 9.8%
While one-win Carolina is only a single upset win away from pulling even with the two-win Cardinals, the Panthers hold the tiebreaker to end up with the higher draft slot because their strength of schedule is worse than that of Arizona.
So in essence, Carolina would need to win two games in its final six for the Cardinals to move up to the top slot, even if Arizona loses out.
The No. 2 spot is also valuable because quarterback prospects Caleb Williams and Drake Maye are widely expected to be the first two picks in the draft.
The Cardinals and Patriots each have two wins on the season, and while Arizona currently sits at No. 2 because it has 10 losses to the Patriots’ nine, New England currently holds the tiebreaker and would likely find itself ahead if the teams finish with identical records.
Caleb Williams has held steady as the odds-on favorite to be the No. 1 overall pick in the draft. Here is a look at the main candidates to be the top pick, according to FanDuel on November 27th:
- Caleb Williams -320
- Drake Maye +250
- Marvin Harrison, Jr. +2000
- J.J. McCarthy +3000
- Olu Fashanu +3000
- Michael Penix +5000
- Joe Alt +5000
- Brock Bowers +6000
- Jayden Daniels +7500
There are six weeks remaining in the NFL regular season, and the top of the draft picture is becoming more clear by the week.
