NFL Betting Predictions: Week 14 Odds and Picks Against the Spread

Finally a bounceback performance last week and I'm back up to 12 games over .500 on the year. The Cardinals are on a bye but there are a ton of other games to pick, beginning with the Patriots-Steelers slog on Thursday Night.

Here are the picks for Week 14.

New England Patriots (+6) at Pittsburgh Steelers

What a historic game we have on our hands. This is the lowest scoring total the NFL has seen in years, as it sits at 30. 

I’m going to be a rebel and take the over by one point. And the Patriots to keep it close.

Score prediction: Steelers 17, Patriots 14

Tampa Bay Buccaneers (+1.5) at Atlanta Falcons

I’m taking the Buccaneers to cover the spread and at +110 on the moneyline.

Why? Because that means every team in the NFC South would be under .500 and increase the chances of a losing team making the playoffs. Beautiful.

Detroit Lions (-3.5) at Chicago Bears

The Bears have been playing better lately and get this game at home, but the Lions are top-10 in both offensive and defensive efficiency.

The Detroit playmakers will show up in this one and help the Lions cover.

Indianapolis Colts (+1) at Cincinnati Bengals

Interesting line here, as Jake Browning’s great showing on Monday night has turned some heads. I need him to do it again for me to fully believe.

The Colts have been quite good this season and I think they pull the mini-upset at +100 moneyline odds.

Jacksonville Jaguars (+3) at Cleveland Browns

Trevor Lawrence was doing some very heavy lifting on offense, and the drop-off to C.J. Beathard would be significant. Lawrence practiced in limited capacity on Thursday but I have a hard time believing he can play with a high-ankle sprain.

With that in mind, I like the Browns at home behind their elite defense.

Carolina Panthers (+5.5) at New Orleans Saints

The Panthers kept things close against the Buccaneers but, man, Bryce Young’s ineptitude makes it tough to keep backing them.

The offense is going to struggle and I think New Orleans will cause multiple turnovers.

Houston Texans (-3.5) at New York Jets

Now the Jets are going back to Zach Wilson. Even though he is bad, it’s not Tim Boyle bad.

I actually like New York to keep this one close and cover.

Los Angeles Rams (+7.5) at Baltimore Ravens

The Ravens are a very good team but I like what Los Angeles has been doing of late.

This spread feels too high because of the Rams’ offensive capabilities.

Minnesota Vikings (-3) at Las Vegas Raiders

The Vikings are a middle of the pack team. A 5-7 record may say Las Vegas is as well, but that’s not true.

The Raiders stink and will lose this one at home by a touchdown.

Seattle Seahawks (+10.5) at San Francisco 49ers

Whew, the 49ers are a juggernaut. This is a huge spread considering the Seahawks are a decent team.

Geno Smith looked really good against the Cowboys and I think the Seattle offense will do enough to claw back and cover.

Buffalo Bills (+1.5) at Kansas City Chiefs

If the Bills have any hope of rising from the dead and making the playoffs, this feels like a must-win.

And you know what? I think they get it. Kansas City has some deficiencies that Buffalo can exploit and snag the upset at +105 moneyline odds.

Denver Broncos (+3) at Los Angeles Chargers

My undying faith in the Chargers finally paid off with a cover last week. And I’m rolling the dice again.

The Broncos have the better win-loss record but a much worse point-differential.

Philadelphia Eagles (+3.5) at Dallas Cowboys

Very interesting line here, as the Eagles could lose by a field goal and still cover the spread.

Dak Prescott is playing some great ball but I think Philly can hang in this shootout, and I’ll take them at this spread.

Tennessee Titans (+13) at Miami Dolphins

The Dolphins don’t get a bunch of respect nationally but the oddsmakers continue to make them huge favorites against weak competition.

While Miami should win this one, I think Derrick Henry has a good enough game to give the Titans enough boost on offense to cover.

Green Bay Packers (-6.5) at New York Giants

Tommy DeVito is the toast of New York but he currently has a Total QBR of 14.4. The guy takes a bunch of sacks and doesn’t add much value with his legs.

The Packers could win this one by two touchdowns or more.
