NFL Betting: New England Patriots Projected to Finish With Fewest Regular Season Wins in 2024

The New England Patriots are unquestionably in a rebuild as they enter 2024 with a new head coach and a new quarterback.
But will they finish with the worst record in the NFL?
That’s the initial assumption from DraftKings, which has set New England’s projected win total at 4.5 for the regular season.
The over is the favorite at -115 with the under coming in at -105. Those are slightly worse odds than were given to the Panthers, the only other team with a projected win total of 4.5.
Eight Lowest Over/Under Win Totals For 2024 At DraftKings
- Patriots under 4.5 wins (-105)
- Panthers under 4.5 wins (+105)
- Titans under 5.5 wins (-140)
- Broncos under 5.5 wins (+115)
- Giants under 6.5 wins (-135)
- Cardinals under 6.5 wins (-110)
- Vikings under 6.5 wins (+110)
- Raiders under 6.5 wins (+115)
The Patriots and Panthers are tied for the longest odds to make the postseason at +1000.
New England had one of the most impressive dynasties in NFL history on the backs of Tom Brady and Bill Belichick, but have only made the playoffs once in the past four seasons.
While the NFL schedule has yet to be released, the opponents are known. New England plays in one of the toughest divisions in the league and has a host of other hard matchups.
Here the home and away foes set for the 2024 campaign.
Home: Bills, Texans, Colts, Chargers, Rams, Dolphins, Jets, Seahawks.
Away: Cardinals, Dolphins, Bills, Jets, Bears, 49ers, Bengals, Jaguars, Titans.
There is a wager at DraftKings which asks if any team is going to finish the season 0-17.
The Patriots check in there with the fourth-best odds at +3500, bested by the Panthers (+2000), Titans (+2500) and Broncos (+3000).
New England holds the No. 3 overall pick, and if it chooses a quarterback, as expected, the short-term success of that prospect will have a great effect on the win total.
Last year is a good example, as No. 1 overall pick Bryce Young struggled mightily all season and the Panthers finished 2-15. Meanwhile, No. 2 pick C.J. Stroud was fantastic from the get-go and led the Texans to the playoffs.
Drake Maye is the current favorite to be the No. 3 overall pick in the draft with odds of -135. Jayden Daniels has +170 odds to be selected third.
Jacoby Brissett was signed in free agency as a bridge quarterback, but a signal-caller taken in the top-3 would likely take over as the starter at some point.
The Patriots have hope for the future under new head coach Jerod Mayo, but the short-term could be a grind.
