NFL Betting: Jim Harbaugh the Favorite to Win Coach of the Year

Jim Harbaugh is back in the NFL, and the oddsmakers believe he could make an immediate splash.
The new Chargers head man has been instituted as the front-runner for 2024 Coach of the Year with +700 odds, according to Caesars Sportsbook.
Harbaugh found great success with the 49ers and won the college football championship last season with the University of Michigan.
The Chargers underwent some changes this offseason but if they can win double digit games, Harbaugh will be in the midst of the conversation for Coach of the Year.
NFL Coach of the Year Favorites
- Jim Harbaugh +700
- Matt Eberflus +1000
- Matt LaFleur +1000
- DeMeco Ryans +1000
- Raheem Morris +1200
- Robert Saleh +1400
- Shane Steichen +1500
- Jonathan Gannon +1600
Harbaugh is a sensible favorite but there are plenty of others in this group that could be in the conversation.
Matt Eberflus seemed to be on the hot seat in Chicago but now has a strong roster. If he can coax a good season out of rookie quarterback Caleb Williams, the Bears will be in the playoff hunt.
The Packers may be underrated nationally and it wouldn’t be a surprise to see that team make a run at the NFC North and even the conference. If so, Matt LaFleur will get Coach of the Year love.
The Texans surprised many last year and will need to take another leap for DeMeco Ryans to be in the mix, while the expectations are already high enough in Atlanta that Raheem Morris will need to get his team in true NFC contention to be considered.
Robert Saleh is an interesting one, as he will get bonus points for keeping the Jets together amidst all the distractions. His candidacy will be tied to the health and performance of Aaron Rodgers.
If Anthony Richardson comes back strong, the Colts could be in playoff contention, and Shane Steichen would be mentioned often for Coach of the Year.
The best candidate among the favorites might be Jonathan Gannon. The Cardinals only won four games a season ago but will have star quarterback Kyler Murray to start the year.
Arizona only has an over/under win projection of 6.5 this season, so if it is able to grab an NFC wild card berth with nine or ten wins, then Gannon will be highly-praised and in the COY running.
