Dak Prescott has been on a tear for several weeks, but the oddsmakers weren’t particularly keen on adding him to the short list of MVP contenders.

That changed on Friday, as the Cowboys quarterback is now in the top-2 in MVP odds at FanDuel and BetMGM after a dominant showing against the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football.

Prescott’s odds are the shortest at BetMGM, where he sits behind only Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts on the list of contenders. Here is a look at the top-5 MVP odds from BetMGM, as of December 1.

Prescott is in the same spot on the list of FanDuel’s top-5 MVP odds, and at a slightly better payout.

The sportsbook that is the most skeptical of Prescott’s MVP shot is DraftKings. Prescott was +1000 before the game against Seattle, and while his odds have since improved, the star signal-caller still sits fourth among the contenders.

Prescott leads the NFL in both Total QBR and touchdown passes after his game against the Seahawks and is averaging an impressive 7.9 yards per pass attempt. 

The Eagles are likely going to finish with a better record, and that will help Hurts’ candidacy, but Prescott continues to bolster his resume as the season reaches its final sprint.
