Green Bay Packers vs. Las Vegas Raiders: Week 5 Predictions, Prop Bet, Picks and Odds 10/9/23
The Las Vegas Raiders have been abysmal on both sides of the ball this year.
The Green Bay Packers have been almost perfectly average.
Despite this, the oddsmakers have instituted the host Raiders as the favorite for their Monday Night Football matchup against the Packers. Here are the odds, courtesy of BetMGM on October 9.
Spread: Raiders -2.5
Moneyline: Raiders -130; Packers +110
Over/Under: 45.5 Points
This betting line looks like a great opportunity to back the underdog. The Packers have the superior record, point-differential and coaching situation heading into this matchup.
The Raiders indeed have some solid players suiting up but the overall depth is better on Green Bay’s side. The quarterback matchup of Jimmy Garoppolo vs. Jordan Love is lopsided in terms of experience but about even when it comes to talent.
In a game that could go either way depending on the bounce of the football, it’s always smart to take the underdog.

Green Bay Packers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Betting Prediction
Garoppolo leads the NFL with six interceptions and is on pace for the lowest passer rating of his career. Davante Adams remains one of the best wide receivers in the NFL but Hunter Renfrow has been non-existent this year and the offense has struggled as a whole.
The inactive list will be key for this one, as Packers star cornerback Jaire Alexander and fellow cornerback Eric Stokes are questionable, as is running back Aaron Jones.
Alexander, in particular, is important because he is the one guy who can minimize the damage done by Adams.
Love has been inconsistent this season but the Packers should be able to move the ball against a Raiders team that is No. 28 in the NFL in defensive efficiency.
Edge rusher Maxx Crosby is a great player for Las Vegas but the Packers can give him attention because no one else on the team has more than one sack.
Green Bay has the superior team and should come away with this win, even if the oddsmakers consider it an upset.
Prediction: Packers 21, Raiders 17
Prop Bet Pick: Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow Over/Under 17.5 Receiving Yards
It’s been a spectacular decline for Renfrow, who has just five catches for 52 yards in four games this season.
Two seasons ago, he was a 1,000-yard receiver and a Pro Bowler.
But this prop bet number is so low that I’m taking it. If Renfrow catches two passes, there is a decent chance he surpasses 17 yards, and I’m taking that bet.
He had four targets last week, though only caught a pair of them for 12 yards. He has played about half the offensive snaps the past three games, which isn’t great, but is still enough to be involved.
I think the Raiders are going to be trailing in this game, and if the Packers make it a priority to keep Adams from going off, someone else will need to step up.
Renfrow is the pick to finally have a decent showing on Monday Night Football.
Prediction: Raiders WR Hunter Renfrow over 17.5 receiving yards (-110 at BetMGM)
