Chicago Bears Over/Under Wins Odds 2021: Take the under

The Chicago Bears are a team very much in flux and that could lead to them going under the 7.5 wins argues Zach Rainey...
The Chicago Bears are in a delicate situation.
Like any team with a rookie quarterback, head coach Matt Nagy will have to worry about when the right time is to put their rookie quarterback Justin Fields into action for the first time.
So far, they’ve been pretty adamant that Andy Dalton will be their Week 1 starter.
If that’s the case, I think the Bears lose to the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams will have their shiny new quarterback on display at home, while the Bears trot out Dalton.
Bears fans got what they wanted though, Mitchell Trubisky is officially out of Chicago. Those same fans were puzzled when the team signed Dalton. Fans were teased a bit when there were rumors that Russell Wilson could be headed to the Windy City, but nothing ever came of it.
I think the Bears put Fields in for Week 4, just ahead of their game with the Detroit Lions. They’ll hope that game serves as a confidence booster, because in the weeks that follow, they’ll be playing the Green Bay Packers, Tom Brady and the Tampa Bay Bucs, the San Francisco 49ers, the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Baltimore Ravens.
I was saying this even when they had Trubisky, but the Bears will still have the chance to be pretty good this season and maybe steal some games if their defense proves to be one of the best in the league like we know it can be.
Akiem Hicks is one of the most underrated inside pass rushers in the league. Put him with Khalil Mack and Robert Quinn on the outside and hopefully healthy years from guys like Eddie Jackson and Roquan Smith.
That looks to be the toughest stretch of their schedule, and that doesn’t include hosting the Arizona Cardinals and then heading to Green Bay.
The year will serve to see if the Bears have actually potentially struck gold with Fields, hoping ti might be enough to make Allen Robinson stay after the team elected to franchise tag him.
The Bears will have the chance to rebound nicely at the end of the season, when they have both of their matchups against the Minnesota Vikings, the New York Giants and maybe steal one from Seattle.
The Bears got some help on the offensive like when they drafted Teven Jenkins out of Oklahoma State.
The only position that concerns me with Chicago is cornerback. They elected not to re-sign Fuller and instead bring in Desmond Trufant to start opposite of Jaylon Johnson. I liked Artie Burns as a draft pick out of Miami, but don’t think he’s really anything special at this point.
When I looked at the schedule, went down the list and took into account which games fall where, I came out with a record of 6-11. The win total for the Bears is 7.5, so give me the under and that Nagy might start Dalton one or two too many games.
