Betting Markets Expect Huge Rookie Season From Marvin Harrison, Jr.
It’s usually best to tap the brakes on outsized expectations for NFL rookies.
But the betting markets aren’t subscribing when it comes to Marvin Harrison, Jr.
The No. 4 overall pick of the Cardinals is projected to be one of the most productive receivers in the NFL in 2024, as he should immediately become the top target of Kyler Murray when he steps foot on the field.
Harrison, Jr. has +2000 odds to lead the NFL in receiving, according to Bet365, which are better odds than current stars like Brandon Aiyuk, Stefon Diggs, Cooper Kupp, Travis Kelce, DK Metcalf, Jaylen Waddle, Deebo Samuel and many others.
There are only 11 pass-catchers with better odds than Harrison, Jr. to lead the NFL in receiving yards in 2024, per Bet365.

Harrison, Jr. has a receiving yardage over/under of 1,075.5 yards this season at Bet365.
The Cardinals haven’t had a 1,000-yard receiver since DeAndre Hopkins in 2020, but the expectation is for Harrison, Jr., to cross that threshold.
There is reason for optimism, as rookie receivers have found immediate success of late.
Puka Nacua had a rookie-record 1,486 receiving yards last season for the Rams, while Garrett Wilson (1,103 yards in 2022), Ja’Marr Chase (1,455 yards in 2021) and Justin Jefferson (1,400 yards in 2020) have all surpassed 1,100 yards within the past few years.
Harrison, Jr. has a fantastic situation, as he will step in as the clear-cut No. 1 wideout in Arizona. While tight end Trey McBride is a burgeoning star, there should be plenty of targets for both.
Murray has made it a habit of targeting his best pass-catchers in years past, and more of the same is expected in 2024.
Harrison, Jr. has +600 odds to win the Offensive Rookie of the Year, according to BetMGM, which is the second-best among first-year players behind No. 1 overall pick Caleb Williams.
While two other receivers went in the top-10 and seven went in the first round of the NFL draft, Harrison, Jr. is seen as the one true contender among the group to lead the NFL in receiving yards as a rookie.
