Sunday Night Football caps the day with the Buffalo Bills hosting an injury-plagued New York Giants squad in what could be a lopsided affair.
As we gear up for a thrilling day of football, we’re unveiling our expert picks, offering sharp insight into the best bets and bold predictions. From potential upsets to standout player performances, here’s everything you need to know before today’s games kick off.
NFL Week 6 Predictions
- Pick #1: Houston Texans -6.5 (-115) over New England Patriots
- Pick #2: Arizona Cardinals +5.5 (-114) over Green Bay Packers
- Pick #3: Carolina Panthers +6.5 (-115) over Atlanta Falcons
Houston has won two games in a row and is 4-1 overall heading into a Week 6 date with 1-4 New England. The Texans’ only loss has come from the Minnesota Vikings, who are still undefeated at 5-0. Needless to say, Sunday’s opponent sure isn’t the Vikings. The Patriots are without question, one of the worst teams in football, and they are arguably the absolute worst of the worst when it comes to offense. Head coach Jerod Mayo’s squad is second-to-last in the NFL at 12.4 points per game, ahead of only the Miami Dolphins. New England has scored three, 13 and 10 points in its last three contests.
As a result, it is reportedly time for Drake Maye to take over at quarterback. The offense did nothing with Jacoby Brissett at the helm, so it probably can’t get any worse. At the same time, it’s unlikely to get much better. Maye has played in only one game, completing four of eight passes for 22 yards while getting sacked twice during a 24-3 loss to the New York Jets. There is no reason to think that New England will come close to keeping up with CJ Stroud and a high-powered Houston outfit. Back the Texans to cover the spread at Draftkings.
The Cardinals are coming off an impressive 24-23 road win over the 49ers. Their 2-3 record is unspectacular, but both performances away from home offer encouraging signs heading into a trip to Lambeau Field. In Week 1, Arizona lost at the Buffalo Bills 34-28 and was inside the opponent’s 30-yard line in the final minute with a chance to win.
The Packers are a solid 3-2, but they are 1-1 in the Frozen Tundra with a loss to Minnesota and an unspectacular 16-10 win over the Indianapolis Colts. Giving 5.5 points to Kyler Murray and company is too much. You can bet on the Cardinals to cover this spread over at BetMGM.
With a 3-2 record, the Falcons are atop the NFC South thanks to their head-to-head tiebreaker over the Bucs. They are a good team, but are they great? Probably not. Close games have been the story for Atlanta. It could be 4-1; it could just as easily be 0-5.
Despite boasting a winning record, the Falcons have a -10 point differential through five weeks. The Panthers are indeed one of the worst teams in football, but they are at least somewhat competent now that Andy Dalton has taken over from Bryce Young as the starting quarterback. Carolina has won this division-rivalry game twice in a row at home. Even if a third straight success is not in the cards, at the very least, this should be a competitive contest. With that in mind, we are predicting the Panthers to cover this spread, priced at -118 at Fanduel.
