Defending Champion: Kansas City Chiefs (14-2)
Off season news:
Seeing the Kansas City Chiefs release both of their starting Tackles in Eric Fisher and Mitchell Schwartz was shall we say - a bit of a surprise - heading into Free Agency but clearing the KC brass had a plan as they brought in Guard Joe Thuney is shore-up that O-Line and even attracted Kyle Long out of retirement. The skill positions needed no upgrade as offensively they go into the 2021 season as a potential juggernaut.
The newly-minted Las Vegas Raiders were the second-best team in this division last term and they've seen a slew of off-season moves to try and get them towards double-digit wins. Arguably the most interesting is DE Yannick Ngakoue who has recorded 45.5 sacks in his five seasons in the NFL. Giving the D-Line a player who can wreck havoc in the backfield is a big step forward.
Justin Herbert has emerged as a more than competent QB for the Bolts who have had a quiet start to Free Agency. Adding Center Corey Linsley from the Packers gives the line a much-needed veteran presence and should be seen as an upgrade. The team is still light years behind the Chiefs, however.
As for the Denver Broncos, they've been a franchise who have struggled in the post-Peyton Manning era, and nothing so far in the 2021 off-season will change that. They have exercised their option on Von Miller but until either Drew Lock takes a leap forward or a new QB is in situ - they aren't going anywhere.
