Zach Edey and Donovan Clingan Prop Bets for Purdue-UConn National Title Game

The UConn men’s basketball team is a 6.5-point favorite to beat Purdue and claim a second consecutive national championship on Monday night.
The Huskies have -305 moneyline odds, while the Boilermakers are +245 to pull the upset.
There are many interesting prop bets for this matchup, especially down low where Purdue star Zach Edey faces off against UConn big man Donovan Clingan.
Here are the best prop bet picks for the national championship game showdown between Purdue and UConn.
Note: Many states in the U.S. do not allow wagering on college basketball props. The only options may be the spread, moneyline and scoring total.
Purdue C Zach Edey Over/Under 12.5 Rebounds
Edey has been an absolute beast on the boards all season, averaging 12.2 rebounds per game, and has stepped that up even more in the NCAA men’s basketball tournament.
But there are a few reasons why I believe the under is the better play here.
The biggest one is the presence of Donovan Clingan, UConn’s 7-foot-2 big man who is going to challenge Edey for many rebounds.
Another is the offensive efficiency of both squads, who are each top-5. The better the offense, the fewer missed shots, the less chance of a rebound for Edey.
And then there is the pace. Both teams are happy to play a slower brand of ball, and the scoring total reflects that at 145 for this matchup.
Edey should reach double-digit rebounds, but 13 or more is a lot to ask.
Best bet: Purdue F Zach Edey under 12.5 rebounds (-120 odds at DraftKings)
UConn C Donovan Clingan Over/Under 13.5 Points
Many people might get stuck on the matchup with Edey and figure that Clingan could have a quiet offensive night, but that may not be the case.
Clingan has scored 14 points or more in four of his five NCAA tournament games and is averaging 16.2 in the tourney. He is coming off a performance in which he poured in 18 points against Alabama in 29 minutes of play.
Even though Edey is a great defender, he will also be needed to help out on driving UConn guards, which results in open space for Clingan on dump-offs.
Clingan should be on the floor for a lot of minutes as long as he stays out of foul trouble, and should have another solid game offensively.
Best bet: UConn C Donovan Clingan over 13.5 points (-110 odds at DraftKings)
UConn C Donovan Clingan Over/Under 0.5 Made Three-Pointers
So this is a fun one to wrap up our national championship game bets.
Clingan has only attempted seven three-pointers all season and made just two, so it’s a mild surprise that this is a prop bet option at all.
But interestingly, the over has been the choice of bettors and the odds have shifted in the lead-up to the game.
Obviously the under is still the heavy favorite, but many believe Edey’s penchant for staying in the lane will result in Clingan to hit a three-pointer in this one, which would result in a payout at +500 odds.
I just can’t get behind that, though. Clingan has not attempted more than one three-pointer in a game all season, and even if he does put one up, the chances are not good that he will sink it.
This is one boring bet, but the odds movement actually gives the under the more favorable odds here.
Best bet: Donovan Clingan under one made three-pointer (-900 odds at DraftKings)
