South Carolina the Odds-On Favorite To Win Women’s Basketball Title Entering Sweet 16

The South Carolina women’s basketball team has been a juggernaut all year, and the oddsmakers fully expect this dominant run to get capped by a title.

South Carolina is already the odds-on favorite to win the NCAA championship even though the tournament is only in the Sweet Sixteen. 

The Gamecocks have -155 odds to win it all at BetMGM, while the next closest competitor, Iowa, sits at +600.

South Carolina is 34-0 on the season and is coming off an 88-42 shellacking of North Carolina. The Gamecocks lost to Iowa in the Final Four a season ago after a 36-0 start to the season, but the betting markets believe they will finish the job in 2024.

DraftKings has a March Madness prop bet that pits South Carolina’s chances to win the national championship against the entire field.

The Gamecocks are the favorites at -150, while a bettor can choose the rest of the field at +120 odds.

South Carolina will play Indiana in the Sweet Sixteen on Friday and is listed as a 15.5-point favorite, with moneyline odds of -1800 to advance.

A potential matchup against a solid Notre Dame team looms in the Elite Eight. 

If South Carolina and Iowa meet again, it would come in the Final Four. Defending national champion LSU is in the same bracket as the Hawkeyes, so that is another potential Final Four foe.

Texas, USC, Stanford and UConn are on the other side of the bracket and would top the list of potential foes in the national championship game.
