Grizzlies @ Jazz Predictions: Bet the under on the Points Total line
For some reason, the series between the Utah Jazz and Memphis Grizzlies has gotten the least amount of buzz, even with Memphis taking the first game of the series against the No. 1 seed.
If it was basically any other No. 1 seed, the topic would’ve been the leading topic on Get Up and The Jump on ESPN. But the Jazz are painted as being boring, despite having a guy like Donovan Mitchell.
Part of Utah’s success has come from their depth. They already have the Defensive Player of the Year in Rudy Gobert, as well as the Sixth Man of the Year Jordan Clarkson, along with Joe Ingles, who actually finished second in the voting for the award. They’re deep and they’re going to get after you for the full 48 minutes.
Mitchell missed Game 1, which was probably the major reason the Grizzlies were able to edge the Jazz.
Since then, Mitchell hasn’t missed a beat since coming back and has continued to get better with each game that passes. He scored 25 in his return, 29 in Game 3 and 30 in Game 4 with eight assists.
I think it shocked a lot of people when the Jazz basically didn’t regress at all when they had to finish the season without their leading scorer. Like I said with Atlanta, I think every game that Mitchell is back, the Jazz will keep getting better.
On Memphis’ side, Ja Morant has started to look like a top-five point guard, and I’m here for it. I think the Jazz close out the series, but I’ve loved watching Morant start stating his case to be considered a superstar and I think that’s a major talking point this season.
I think Memphis knows they’re done. As a team that went on a great run to even get into the playoffs, winning two play-in games, I think they’re exhausted.
Because of that, I like the under 226.
As for our prop, I’m eyeing Morant again. I fully expect him to be going 110 miles per hour in this game and play like a bat out of hell. He averaged 19.1 points per game in the regular season but has averaged 31 per game against one of the league’s best defenses.
I’m looking at his over assists at 7.5. He had seven rebounds in games two and three followed by 12 in Game 4. I don’t think this will be the last time we see Morant, as I think, with the right moves hit off-season, we could see Memphis back in the playoffs next season, possibly as a higher seed.
You can get over 7.5 assists at -110 at BetMGM and PointsBet, -121 at 888Sport, BetRivers and Unibet.
