Grizzles vs Warriors Predictions: Take the Under on the Total Points
The final Play-In game in the West sees Steph Curry and Co. takes on the Grizzlies. Zach Rainey is here with his thoughts ahead of tonight's game...
We have just one play-in game remaining before the madness of the NBA Playoffs is officially upon us.
I think we’ll appreciate the crowds more than ever this year after watching guys basically play pickup games in an empty gym. It wasn’t perfect, but it sufficed.
The Golden State Warriors are coming off an electric finish against the Los Angeles Lakers. While Stephen Curry’s side fell short, it averaged 5.6 million viewers and was the most-watched NBA game on ESPN since the 2019 Western Conference Finals.
If you took my bet for that game: Curry over 36.5 points, we certainly sweat it out together, but cashed by the hook at the end of the day.
On the other side, the Memphis Grizzlies come off a narrow win against the San Antonio Spurs, despite being up 20 points at one point. I definitely didn’t think we were cashing that ticket, but the Spurs did their part as one of the best road underdogs in the league and cashed.
We now have one last play-in game to decide the last playoff spot and who will head to Salt Lake City to take on the Utah Jazz.
The Warriors opened as 3.5 point favorites and the line has since moved to five.
The Moneyline currently sits around -215 for the Warriors, which is a little rich for my blood.
We just saw the Warriors take on Memphis on the last day of the season when Curry went for 46 points to secure the scoring title.
I don’t like the spread or the Moneyline in this one, but am attracted to the under at 221.5. Both teams had hard-fought games Tuesday night.
I know they’ve had plenty of time to rest up since their play-in games, but I think that game against the Lakers took a lot out of Curry. In my preview of the Lakers-Warriors game Tuesday, I said the Lakers were going to throw double-teams at Curry that he hadn’t seen in probably years, as he’s always had enough weapons around him to make teams pay for doing so. He was still able to get nearly 40, but don’t be surprised if he doesn’t look as sharp tonight.
For my prop of the game, I like Jonas Valanciunas over 15.5 rebounds.
When Valanciunas is on the floor for the Grizzlies, they’re a different team. He put up a stat line of 29 points and 16 rebounds in the final regular season game before going for 23 points, 23 rebounds and three blocks in the play-in game.
The Warriors will likely have Kevon Looney and Draymond out there to try and slow him down, but he will have a massive height advantage out there at all times.
You can get the prop at -105 at PointsBet, -113 at 888Sport, BetRivers and Unibet and -140 at BetMGM.
