Royals @ White Sox Predictions: Back Chicago -1.5

Carlos Rodon has been on an absolute tear in 2021 but does Neil Monnery think it'll continue this Friday night against the Royals...?
The star of the show is clearly Carlos Rodon. I recall three or four years ago when I had the left-hander in a keeper fantasy league where we kept 12 players each off-season and he was right on the borderline to keep. I always thought there was real potential to be a top notch starter in there. Before I had to make the decision I left the league due to time constraints but I have a feeling I'd not have kept him. There is little doubt that I'd feel more than foolish about that decision now.
His 2021 season has been about as good as it could have been. If the season ended today then he'd be in line to pick up the AL Cy Young award having amassed a 4-0 record with the negligible ERA of just 0.72. That is what you'd call pretty decent. When your worst start in four is a five-inning outing where you give up only one earned and strikeout eight then you are in good nick.
Tonight he'll be up against Brad Keller. The right-hander has not pitched well at all so far in 2021. With one Quality Start to his name in six starts being the lone bright spot. Last time out he gave up seven runs (albeit with only two earned) against the Minnesota Twins but in two of his six outings, the 25 year-old has failed to get out of the second inning.
Kansas City are nursing a five-game losing streak which included a four-game sweep by the Cleveland Indians. That doesn't bode well and the fact Chicago are favorites on the Moneyline makes sense. The spread though has Chicago -1.5 with a decent price being +102 at the time of writing - best priced with 888Sport in New Jersey.
Therefore my pick in this one is Chicago White Sox -1.5 @ +102
