After September's 3–2 defeat to Nice, PSG have dropped points just once in Ligue 1, winning five and currently enjoying a four-game winning streak in the league. The Parisiens hold a slender one-point lead over Nice at the summit of the table and will be set on extending that, despite failing to beat Monaco in either of last season's head-to-head clashes.
A saved Le Havre penalty ensured that the points were shared in Monaco's previous Ligue 1 outing. The Red and Whites have managed seven wins from 12 league fixtures, suffering one of their two losses three matches ago when they were handed a 2–0 defeat during an away trip to Lille at the end of October.
PSG vs Monaco Tips
Following the defeat to Nice, PSG have managed to fortify Parc des Princes, winning all three of their matches to nil against Marseille, Strasbourg, and Montpellier. Add to that a 3–0 victory over Reims in their final outing before club soccer was put on hold for the remaining EURO 2024 qualifiers and it's clear to see Luis Enrique's side are firing once again.
Monaco have failed to score in two of their last three matches, losing to Lille 2–0 and drawing with Le Havre — both of which came away — with Friday's visitors managing just two wins from six attempts on the road in Ligue 1. Adi Hutter's side have shipped 14 goals, more than six of the teams around them and only fewer than Nantes in 9th when it comes to the top half of the table. Without Youssouf Fofana and late assessments being made for Folarin Balogun and Takumi Minamino, plus the out-of-form Ben Yedder hitting just one goal in his last nine outings, Monaco seem ill-prepared to mount a serious challenge to PSG in this fixture.
Kylian Mbappe appears to have put thoughts of a move away from PSG to the back of his mind and is letting his counterparts know that he means business this season. The 24-year-old has struck 13 times in 11 Ligue 1 games, averaging a goal every 69 minutes in the division.
Mbappe bagged a hat-trick before the international break, striking a brace two games prior to that which was the fifth time he's managed two or more goals in a PSG shirt this term. Those braces didn't come against weak opposition either, with Mbappe imposing himself in this capacity in games with Lens, Lyon, and Nice. He enters having netted a hat-trick in the 14–0 demolition of Gibraltar last Friday and having provided seven goal contributions in Les Bleus' two remaining qualifiers, meaning he can continue this rich vein of form against a weakened Monaco.
