Colton Cowser, Not Jackson Holliday, Making Rookie of the Year Push For Orioles

Before Opening Day, few would have been shocked if the Baltimore Orioles ended up with the American League Rookie of the Year in 2024.
It’s still very much on track to happen – but it’s no longer the candidate everyone expected.
Hotshot prospect Jackson Holliday struggled during his first stint in the major leagues and is currently back down in the minors to iron things out.
But the less-heralded Colton Cowser has had no such problems, as a strong start has positioned him as the favorite to win the American League Rookie of the Year with +140 odds at BetMGM.
Cowser opened as a 40-to-1 longshot to win the award.
It’s possible Holliday comes back up and finds his groove to get back in the mix, but he is currently a longshot at +3000 odds, much worse than his preseason odds of +300.
