Nevada Sports Betting

Editor’s note: As of Jan. 18, 2021

Nevada’s monopoly-like hold on legal sports betting has been broken as nearly 20 other states have passed legislation and are collecting millions and billions in sports betting revenue.

And while Nevada has long been No. 1, New Jersey, whose lawsuit brought the downfall of the Professional and Amateur Sports Protection Act opening the door sports betting across the U.S. in 2018, is now poised to possibly topple Nevada as the sports betting capital of America.

But the Silver State has little to worry about as people will still flock to the shiny object in the western U.S. desert to gamble, party and wager on sports.
