Make no bones about it, Turkey have been by far the biggest single disappointment in Euro 2020 through two rounds of group games. Coming into the tournament they were a sexy pick to one of the dark horses and progress not only to the knockout stage but potentially to the Quarter-Finals.
Then the games started and they stunk up the joint. I do not expect that to change in this final game with Switzerland. With the Swiss knowing that a win would likely send them into the knockout stage either as runner-up in the group or as one of the best-placed third place teams (depending on results elsewhere), I fully anticipate them winning the game (best priced -145 on the Moneyline). So I’m going to try and find some value elsewhere in some of the prop markets.
I rarely delve deep into the prop markets but whilst rooting around I found the corner handicap market with bet365 which intrigued me when I saw the odds offered. I can’t see anything other than a Switzerland win and for them to be on the front foot for the vast majority of the game. Therefore to get +105 for them to get more corners in the game (with a two corner handicap) I think that is a better than 50-50 shot.
Turkey haven’t scored yet in this tournament and haven’t particularly looked like doing so. Switzerland to win to nil is best priced +200 with bet365 and I’m happy to have a small play at those odds.
Breel Embolo was outstanding against Wales in the opening game but wasn’t doing half as much damage against a stout Italian defense. He’s +187 with bet365 to score anytime. All three of the markets I’m considering playing have their best price with that Sportsbook so it might be a good day to open an account with them.
Picks: Switzerland -2 to win the most corners at +105 with bet365.
Switzerland to win the game to nil at +200.
Breel Embolo to score anytime at +187.
