Spain vs. Poland Predictions: Lewandowski to score at +300

Spain disappointed our man Neil Monnery with their performance against Sweden but does he expect anything better against Poland...?
Location: Sevilla, Spain
Date: Saturday, June 19.
Kick Off Time: 3PM ET
TV: ABC
For me, Spain were by far - let me repeat that - by far the biggest disappointment in the first round of games. It was like watching Spain from before their Golden generation once again. They had 86% possession but they didn’t really do much with it until the final few minutes when they created a couple of decent chances. Sweden were ultra defensive but never looked in any real trouble and in fact they created the best two chances of the game. If Spain have ambition to go deep into this tournament then they have to really up their game.
Poland were involved in the only game I didn’t see in full in the first round of games. I had a nap in the second half of their defeat to Slovakia. I have since watched the highlights and thought they were a bit unlucky when they were reduced to ten men. So I’ll give them a bit of a pass as they looked to be on top when Grzegorz Krychowiak was sent for an early bath.
I have repeatedly written - both in my pre-tournament piece and in the preview of the Spain vs. Sweden game that I just don’t rate Alvaro Morata. I stick by that and if he starts again I certainly won’t be piling in on him to score anytime at +143. Only Gerard Moreno is shorter (+140) but I suppose we’ll see who Luis Enrique decides should get the nod.
Poland of course possess the best striker in world football at the moment in Robert Lewandowski and he’s a whopping +300 to score at anytime. That is a really big price for me. I know Poland are significant underdogs but Sweden should have scored at least once and possibly twice. If the Bayern Munich striker got those opportunities then I’d be stunned if he didn’t put them away.
Picks: Spain are just too short at -275 to win the game so give me +400 for the tie with multiple Sportsbooks. I just think that is a value play.
Clearly I also like Lewandowski to score at anytime at +300. Best price with Unibet and SugarHouse.
