Hungary vs. Portugal Predictions: Orban at +1150 to score any time

Will the home crowd help Hungary pull off the big shock against Portugal on Tuesday lunchtime? Fair to say that Neil Monnery has his doubts...

Tuesday brings with it just two games at the Euros and my initial reaction is does that mean I have no excuse not to work in the morning? My second reaction is holy cow - Group F is the Group of Death and despite playing at home, Hungary have an uphill battle to qualify even with three countries potentially moving on to the knockout phase.
These two met in the group stages at Euro 2016 playing out an absolutely thrilling 3-3 draw. Since then they’ve met twice with Portugal not conceding, winning the games 1-0 and 3-0. The Portuguese are one of the favorites to win the whole tournament and remember they are defending champions. Squad wise they might even be better than they were five years ago.
Cristiano Ronaldo is still one of the best players in world football. His standards may have slightly slipped from the highs of the past decade or so but it is highly unlikely there are more than two or three players better than him playing here. They aren’t a one-man team however.
Bruno Fernandes has played extremely well since moving to Manchester United. The creative midfielder may have not hit the heights of his first 12 months at Old Trafford in the past 10-15 games but his quality is not in doubt. Andre Silva was the second top scorer in the Bundesliga behind only Robert Lewandowski. Bernardo Silva is part of a wonderful Manchester City squad and remember - they still have the old stager Pepe at the back. So the quality of the Portuguese squad is not in doubt.
If that wasn’t enough to get you nudged towards which way I’m leaning, if I told you that Hungary’s most talented player Dominik Szoboszlai will miss Euro 2020 having failed to recover from an injury then that will probably seal the deal.
Therefore I don’t need to write too much more in terms of a Moneyline Pick. Portugal at -220 is too short so I wouldn’t bet that market.
I like a bit of a low shot Player Prop however. I think Portugal win and win comfortably but did you know that Hungary defender Willi Orban has scored five times in 20 games for his country? That is pretty sweet for a player in that position and at +1150 to score at any time with 888sport, Unibet and SugarHouse - I’m interested in a small dabble.
The over/under 2.5 goals market sees over slightly at odds against and I like that too. +105 with Resorts Casino is the best price at the time of writing.
Picks: Willi Orban to score at any time and over 2.5 goals.
