That 0-0 draw with Scotland all but assured the country of qualification to the knockout stages (and subsequently it has) but the column inches were not kind to either England manager Gareth Southgate nor his players. Star man Harry Kane is facing increasing calls to be dropped and fans and pundits alike want to see a more attacking style adopted by the team.
Mason Mount has started both games heading into this one but his place in the side is in doubt due to exposure to the Covid-19 positive Billy Gilmour of Scotland. At the time of writing his situation is unclear as is the availability of backup left-back Ben Chilwell.
Harry Kane won’t be dropped despite the clamor of fans to shake things up so expect to see him lead the line once more. As for whether we’ll see wholesale changes to the attacking areas of the pitch - your guess is as good as mine. England have only managed a paltry three shots on target through two matches and that isn’t going to get it done. The likes of Jack Glealish, Jadon Sancho and Jude Bellingham are all primed to come into the starting XI should manager Southgate decide to make significant changes.
As for the Czech’s - they are more than happy with their work through two games. An opening game win against Scotland was headlined by that wonder goal from front man Patrik Schick. A combative 1-1 draw against Croatia got them to four points and that has been proven to be enough to get them to the knockout stage. Due to an goal difference advantage - a tie would be enough to see them top the group.
I can’t back England on the Moneyline at best-priced -182 with William Hill. A tie at +295 with Unibet and SugarHouse is a far better bet value wise.
Harry Kane has been a shadow of his imperious self through two games but how often are you going to get him at +140 (with Resorts Casino) to score at anytime in a game? That is a big price considering he is odds-on with other Sportsbooks. Seriously tempting that.
If Harry Maguire is thrown back in following his injury lay-off then +375 to pick up a card is a play. Rust can lead to lazy and mistimed challenges.
England are going to have to be on the front foot if they are to avoid getting the crowd on their back early. There +105 for over 4.5 total corners in the first half with bet365 is a play.
Picks: Harry Kane is score anytime at +140. Harry Maguire to be shown a card at +375 and over 4.5 total corners at +105.
