The fourth knockout game of the Round of 16 sees two European heavyweights clash in what should be a cracking game.
Belgium have been my pick to win the tournament since day one and the way they’ve navigated their way through the group stage has been very impressive. They’ve only conceded once and that was in that heavily emotional game in Copenhagen where Denmark were fantastic. At Half-Time in that game Belgian coach Roberto Martinez brought on Kevin de Bruyne and the Manchester City midfielder changed the game. A wonderful assist, a cracking goal and they got all three points.
Portugal had a harder route through to the Round of 16. They were in the perceived Group of Death and beat Hungary in their first game before they got a beating in Munich at the hands of Germany. They just about scraped through thanks to a 2-2 draw with Portugal in large part thanks to ten penalty kicks.
Cristiano Ronaldo has been great just as you would expect. With five goals to his name, the living legend of the game is in pole position to win the Euro 2020 Golden Boot. He has scored in every single game yet the odds for him hitting the back of the net in this one are +175 with Unibet and SugarHouse. That screams value to me for a nice prop bet.
Belgian striker Romelu Lukaku is +150 in the same market with Kevin de Bruyne at +400. Both of those prices are worth looking at and I would consider them.
In the Moneyline market, you can get Belgium at +145 with multiple Sportsbooks at the time of writing and I’m willing to take that price. They are a bit iffy defensively but going forward they have some excellent players who can curve teams up. If Germany can score four past them then I see no reason why Belgium shouldn’t get two or three.
With so much attacking talent on display then to see the over 2.5 goals market at odds against across the board genuinely stuns me. I’d be willing to push it up to over 3.5 goals and get the +290 with Unibet and SugarHouse. I think this could be an open game.
Picks: Belgium straight up for the win at +143. CR7 to score anytime at +175 and over 3.5 goals at +290.
