BetRivers Sportsbook Review 2024

BetRivers is a leading US gambling brand renowned for its multi-faceted portfolio with sub-sites such as their successful sweepstakes casino branch, Betrivers Net casino. I recently took the sportsbook for a spin, enjoying several notable highlights that make the platform a genuine competitor to the likes of DraftKings, FanDuel, and BetMGM.

While the overall bonuses, design, and customer support lag, BetRivers offers some unique highlights. A visually appealing “Prop Central” section is a goldmine for prop bettors, while 80% of withdrawal requests can be processed instantly, and bettors in major sports leagues can access substantial pre-game statistics.

BetRivers doesn’t exactly push the boat out with its promotions, but there’s still enough to please new and existing customers. If you can claim the $500 maximum amount, the welcome bonus can be one of the industry’s most generous. Few sportsbooks can beat a $500 initial offer, but my only annoyance is that the initial wager must be lost for you to see any of the benefits. 

Ultimately, BetRivers lags behind alternatives like the BetMGM bonus bet of up to $1500 or DraftKings bet $5 get $200. I prefer a welcome bonus I’m guaranteed to get something from at the end of the day, rather than a promotion that hinges on my bet losing. 

Another slight negative compared to elsewhere is the extra steps involved in claiming the welcome bonus. Bettors must opt-in during registration and use the SPORTS bonus code, so there are more hoops to jump through before claiming compared to the examples in the last paragraph. Although not a sports betting promo, the BetRivers casino welcome bonus is worth touching on. The sportsbook is very closely integrated with the casino in a way that competitors like DraftKings and even BetMGM can struggle to replicate.

BetRivers will particularly appeal to bettors looking for a hybrid between both gambling avenues, and the 100% cashback on up to $500 of casino losses welcome bonus is a great way to start. The only hitch is you cannot use both welcome bonuses simultaneously, so choose carefully. 

Parlay Insurance 

BetRivers advertised a parlay insurance bonus on the homepage banner at the time of writing, but it was no longer available after clicking on the option. This out-of-date bulletin was even more frustrating after I found a relative lack of current offers under the “Promotions” pop-up menu. Still, at least we know parlay insurance is a thing at BetRivers. 

I couldn’t read any terms and conditions, but I imagine the parlay insurance bonuses will follow largely the same rules as elsewhere. As an example, FanDuel offers same-game parlay insurance on all NFL playoff games and requires a minimum $1 wager at +400 odds or longer to qualify for up to $100 in refunded bonus bets.  

Bet And Get 

Similarly to the parlay insurance above, I saw a few “bet and get” promotions on the rolling banner at the top of the homepage. These had also expired, but it’s another indication of the type of ongoing promotion you could enjoy while betting at BetRivers. 

Bet and get promotions typically offer up to a certain amount of bonus funds after placing a qualifying bet, so it could be an eye-catching promo when available. Some examples at BetRivers included live Australian Open wagers and NBA props. 

Refer-A-Friend 

The BetRivers refer-a-friend scheme is the main highlight, potentially offering far more than any competitors in exchange for referring a new customer to the platform. You can win bonus bet prizes between $50 and $500, so it’s more than worth taking advantage. Head to the referral section of your account homepage to see your options and read the full terms and conditions. 

iRush Rewards Program 

BetRivers calls its loyalty scheme iRush Rewards, and it’s one of the better examples across the industry. Bettors earn loyalty points with every real money wager, climbing ten foundational tiers and an elite level with varying incentives. 

The first few levels grant practical benefits like bonus store access and BetRivers special offers, but the later tiers are particularly eye-catching. For example, elite bettors (an invitation-only level) enjoy a dedicated VIP concierge and even a free Apple or Android playing device. 

BetRivers Bonus Store 

While BetRivers isn’t great for bettors searching for classic sports betting promos, I can’t fault the platform’s creativity in other areas. All wagers at the site contribute loyalty points, but this isn’t all. Bettors also receive bonus money credits that can be redeemed in the dedicated BetRivers Bonus Store, where you can choose from prize wheel spins and other options. 

And it gets better – BetRivers also enables its customers to “stack” things like wheel spins and scratchcards, consequently saving them for later. This provides arguably the industry’s most flexible loyalty and rewards program and was a definite highlight during my review process. How to Build a Bet at BetRivers

BetRivers has a less professional interface than market leaders like FanDuel or BetMGM, but the sportsbook excels in other areas. I’m a massive fan of the in-depth statistics and betting tips on the right-hand side of major sports games across leagues like the NBA and NFL. Bettors can access information on previous forms, lineups, injuries, and team statistics. There are even expert betting tips and handpicked wagers for teams on a hot streak. 

I’m impressed by BetRivers in this regard, with hardly any other sportsbooks offering such in-depth information integrated so cleanly into a game page. DraftKings arguably delivers more comprehensive data, but you must click on the “Stats” section first, so it can easily be missed. Unfortunately, I do find the BetRivers betslip to be clunky and not as streamlined as the major competitors, so bear this in mind. 

How to Build a Same-Game Parlay at BetRivers

Every sportsbook worth its salt must offer a same-game parlay builder nowadays, and BetRivers delivers. Bettors can take advantage of quick pick same-game parlays at the top of the sports betting homepage – a decent option if you’re struggling to formulate your own. 

I always prefer building my same-game parlays from scratch to take full advantage, which is easy enough using the BetRivers interface. I narrowly prefer the SGP builders at BetMGM and FanDuel due to the smoother software and more extensive possibilities, but there isn’t too much in it.

I wouldn’t recommend BetRivers to bettors who enjoy placing regular teaser bets, as the interface isn’t anywhere near as flexible as elsewhere. BetMGM offers a versatile slider helping bettors choose the spread, but BetRivers only has a bullet point list of less than a dozen options to choose from. BetRivers certainly holds its own regarding betting market scope compared to the industry leaders. I enjoyed over 400 potential betting markets on Houston Texas @ Baltimore Ravens, only narrowly less than Caesars Sportsbook or FanDuel, who are official NFL betting partners. BetRivers even had some interesting choices I struggled to find elsewhere, namely a “Player to make an interception” option. The main markets to consider include:

Not only does this provide the perfect foundation to check out props from across these four sports leagues, but the sportsbook also provides franchise strips and logos, upping the ante with the visuals. If you’re a fan of prop bets, this is a definite BetRivers selling point to consider. 

Available Sports at BetRivers

I wasn’t expecting BetRivers to match the sports coverage at larger sportsbooks, but I was pleasantly surprised by the wealth of 33 different options. The site is particularly good for bettors with a passion for rarer sports. For example, finding Gaelic football is a rarity at other US sportsbooks. If you’re looking for something a bit different from the status quo, BetRivers has one of the more interesting selections. Check below for a complete breakdown:

Live Sports Betting

The live betting homepage at BetRivers could do with slightly more search menus, as you must keep scrolling down the page to find more niche live betting markets. Other sportsbooks offer shortcuts for each sport at the top of the page, making the live betting easier to navigate. There is also more live streaming possibilities at certified industry leaders, but BetRivers still performs better than many other betting sites for streaming. 

I was impressed by the in-depth live betting markets, especially for soccer, football, tennis, and other major sports. The “Instant Betting” category for tennis is particularly exciting, allowing you to predict whether there’ll be an ace in a specific game or even the winner of a particular point. Elsewhere, I enjoyed being able to build same-game parlays for live soccer games.  

The BetRivers iOS and Android apps are unfortunately some of the main areas where the sportsbook lacks high-end betting entertainment for industry heavyweights. The clunky software and amateurish visuals are highlighted on smaller smartphone screens, so it’s no surprise that the App Store (4.4 out of 5) and Google Play (3.5 out of 5) ratings are lower than the top-end apps. 

But there’s plenty of time for BetRivers to rectify this. Both apps have less than 5,000 collective reviews at the time of writing, so I’d hope that the operator hones its software and expands its mobile bettor base as time goes on.

BetRivers is legal in 15 states and counting. Here is the complete list: 

Customer support is another area where BetRivers must improve. The help center is outdated, poorly designed, and not particularly helpful for many queries. While a customer support live chat is open from 9:30am to 2:00am, it didn’t perform particularly well during my tests. Response times were slow, and support agents were less knowledgeable than I’ve found elsewhere. 

Additionally, finding BetRivers email and telephone support information proved quite difficult. Your best bet is to use the [email protected] email address. 

Conclusion

BetRivers is definitely on the higher end of US sportsbooks, but it still seems like the platform doesn’t know whether it wants to be a sportsbook or casino first and foremost. Bettors can enjoy some notable fairly unique highlights, namely the prop central section and the impressive game picks and statistics on major league fixtures. I’m also a big fan of the versatile rewards scheme, although the other BetRivers bonuses need some work.
