The Baggies currently occupy fifth place in the Championship having collected 39 points, 13 points behind second-placed Ipswich Town. Carlos Corberan’s men came out 1-0 winners against Norwich City on Boxing Day with Brandon Thomas-Asante scoring the only goal of the game.
Leeds sit six points and one place above Friday’s opponents in the standings. A win for Daniel Farke’s side could take the West Yorkshire club up to third, should Plymouth get the better of Southampton in Devon.
Taking a look at the match result prices and the visitors are the 5/4 favourites with most firms to come out winners. The draw can be sided with at 12/5, while a home win for West Brom is chalked-up at 11/5.
West Brom vs Leeds Tips
Both of these teams have struggled for consistency in recent weeks with the hosts winning two of their last six and Leeds winning two of their last five. Off the back of that I’ve decided to steer clear of the match result and for my main bet of the evening I’m backing Georginio Rutter to provide an assist anytime in the match.
No player has registered more assists in the Championship this season than the Leeds forward. Rutter along with Adam Armstrong, Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall and Leif Davis, has managed nine assists in the league in 2023/24. Leeds have only failed to score in one of their last 11 matches and Rutter can turn provider once again here.
I’ll also be having a small wager on Crysenco Summerville to score and be carded at 13/1 with Sky Bet.
Only Ethan Ampadu has been shown more yellow cards this season for Leeds than the Dutchman with five in total. The 22-year-old is the joint-top scorer for the club in 2023/24, having netted 11 league goals since his side were relegated last season.
This bet of Summerville to score and be carded in the same game has landed three times already this term. Cards could well be on the agenda for a high-pressure clash, where both sides need the win to keep their hopes of automatic promotion alive. but with the visitors expected to come out on top, At 13/1 I think he makes appeal here for a repeat via the Sky Bet Bet Builder.
